besides the inaccuracy and stupidity of the blogs, does anybody else get driven nuts by ek's writing "style"?

my reasoning was that d points and goalie wins are harder to replace than forward points. i know that both doughty and halak have had disappointing starts but so has ryan (and skins' concussion scares me). halak is trending upwards and the st. louis system will keep his GAA down and save % up.

like i said earlier, it depends on the guy's needs. i just find that f's are easier to replace than d or g's in fantasy leagues.

They are but forwards with a few exceptions get more points than D do. Also had Doughty and Halak last yearm neither did (frank) all for me, and i can see neither are doing (frank) all this year either. Doubt that changes much, even though Halak has been better recently.

Ek went to journalism school okay... got a masters in journalism at a school that never even offered journalism. Why questions his abilities?

were I starting a team today I would have him and Shea Weber as my 1/2.

And your team would consistently lose to Zdeno Chara and the Bruins!

Myers or Weber and Chara would be my choice. Chara first, then you can't lose with either one.

i read like 1 out of every 10 ek blogs because, let's face it, they're useless.
but every time i read one i get dizzy and fall out of my chair trying to follow the way he writes.

thought you might get a laugh out of this.

so anthony "rumble" johnson is fighting belfort tomorrow night. this will be his first fight at 185 pounds. he's fought at 170 for most of his career but was having difficulties cutting to get down to 170 so he moved up.

so what do you think he weighed in today for his fight (remember he has to make 185)?

dude, weighed in at 197 pounds. yup, he came close

We don't need JVR, if we are going to move Schenn who is going to be a top shut down defenseman in this league, you better believe we get a proven centreman that we have long coveted. Getzlaf and Staal are both great choices, and yes it would take Schenn+. I'd rather have Staal as Getzlaf has lazy tendencies but he is more skilled.

At some point you just have to say (frank) the weight classes and belts and let MFers fight at catch weight. No way a dude that big fights that light a category, he might want to look into going up a weight class or so, thing is most dont want to cause that means they have to fight guys their size and the further you go up the heavier the hitters are.

everyone does it though.

gsp walks around at 195. he weighs low 190's at fight time. anderson silva reportedly walks around 220. (brock had to cut weight - about 15 pounds to get to the 265 HW limit). it's just the way that mma/boxing works. you try to cut as much weight to give yourself any advantage you can get.

they can never go back to the old open weight ufc days. you're never going to see a royce gracie fighting some guy 100 pounds more than him again. athletic commissions/states will never allow it.

That is a shame cause that was the best part about the UFC. And the best fights. As for the cutting the weight, the guy who has to cut the most is usually out of gas by the 2nd round and it gives quite the advantage to the guy who doesnt have to cut as much weight and fights the closest to their natural weight IMO.

agree. there is a fine balance. at a certain point, it becomes the law of diminishing returns.

if you want to make some money tomorrow, bet on belfort. johnson is gonna be effed big time (imo) with all his dieting shenanigans.

JVR has to learn much still, but he has to learn the kind of things players like him can learn and then the sky is the limit. JVR and Kane could easily be heading up Team USA at the Olympics in Russia.

Do all of you feel stupider from trying to figure out if that sentence makes sense too, or is it just me?
