Moen gill and akots should get us a couple of picks.
- camby

That's about it unless they move Gionta, but like Cammy, they would need to take $ back. He is not going anywhere if he is not healthy anyway.

They could get late picks (4th round?) for Darche or Weber or they could end up being throw in with one of mtl ufas.

Top 5 picks for last 10 years, all I was trying to say was the chances are MUCH better of drafting well in top 5.

I think we have to keep ak now that cammy is gone. Moen and gill will bring low picks.
- cburgess

For me, it all comes down to what we can get for Akots... at the end of the day, not sure we can find someone to replace him - in the system, off-season trade, or as a UFA... so it would have to be a great deal.

At this point, I'd rather try to re-sign him, but he is likely looking at this disaster of a team and all the BS around it... if I was him I'd likely want to see if a better place to play as a UFA opens up in the off season.

Me too, not much choice now. And i doubt if any skilled players are coming in via UFA as cheap as AK is.

I think that if the Habs had tried to sign him at the same time as Gorges, perhaps they might have been able to... not now.

Would you want to sign a long term contract with the Habs if you were him, at this point?

I agree, but it's just not 100% a sure thing. Never said mtl should trade the pick. Just not a huge fan of Timmins even if he is probably better than the guys before him in montreal.

Meh Habs took a flyer on this kid and helped him out. Odds are he thinks his brother is a female genitalia too.

Personally I think he is the type of player would would kind of slack off for 5 of the 6 years if you gave him that type of deal

Wich is why you trade him at the deadline. Don't let him walk away for nothing. That would be a disaster.
