Look at it this way:
Flames get a 6million dollar 30 goal scorer, a KHL goalie (they already have 2 young goalier in Irving and Karlson) and a 5th.
Habs get a 3million dollar 27 goal scorer, a decent depth prospect, and a 2nd rd pick from a bad team.

fixed.

And if Ramo comes over, we will look stupid for giving him up but w/e

I was only playing, due to all the hoopla over this potential trade.
IMO, Schenn is a good fit and BIG time needed in Leafland.

I don't know about Ramo, Lightning already gave up on him, and they haven't had anything decent since Khabibulin.

Why are the Canadiens afraid to stick Gomez in the minors? Does he have a NMC?

They gave up because he's not in NA. just like the habs. Has the potential to be a number 1 (not a star)

I like how they're worried about Ramo. Nobody even remembers the guy until he was traded. "But what if he turns into the Kipper...ouch, I sure hope not" Idiots.

he's a vet. They have too much respect to do that to a veteran. Might send him home by cab from SJ but not to the minors.

How???
How can you believe this???

Kabby isn't no where near the calibur of player that Markov was!
it isn't even close!!

Trading for Kabby is a handcuffing move that shot the habs in the foot. And unless Gaut can move him at the deadline or before next season....this was a Top 3 of his dumbest trades for the habs.

- 25th CUP OR BUST!

I agree with this, but if Markov doesn't come back Kaberle is a somewhat reasonable replacement at a decent cap hit, they would need to find something.

stop dream Muffdiver, this is NOT gonna happen....or it would have happened last summer.
- 25th CUP OR BUST!

I disagree, after the year he had I think they wanted to see if he could have a bounce back year.
Not to mention the 2 years he will be in the minors will cost them what they were paying per year previously.
SO here are the scenarios:
1- pay him 10M over the next 2 years and have a 7M cap hit/yr
2- but him out for 7M over 4 years and still have 3.5, 4.5, 1.6, 1.6 cap hit
3- pay him 10M and have no cap hit (he cost you 7.5 this year for nothing)

This is a business and paying an extra 3 for the extra cap space from option 2 is a no brainer.

He wasn't going to come to Mtl to be a back-up and if he was going to be more than that Mtl is screwed anyways.

He has played for both Tampa and Norfolk, I think he'll only come over if he'a garenteed a starter's spot.
