Yeah I can't see him having complete solo control. Hate to say it, they should have fired him and brought back Gainey and Martin as a team to just unload contracts before the new permanent GM is hired. Kind of like the Leafs did with Fletcher before Burke took over.

I had lost complete interest in this team until last night. It kind of gave me hope... I know.. I shouldn't have any hope... but... yes.. the fact that he can pull off big trades is quite surprising to say the lease.

I am not thrilled with it either, in general... a veteran short term GM that is familiar with the team and is there to just unload and get as many picks and prospects as possible.. Gainey and Martin do fill that criteria
