Perry Pearn fired an hour before game time.

Jacques Martin fired day of game.

Mike Cammalleri traded DURING a game.

Pierre Gauthier is out of his mind and the Molsons need to do something fast. How this man is allowed to be in charge of the most storied franchise in the sport is beyond me and, unless something is done soon, it can still get worse.

- Urethra Franklin

He also lied to the media about markov, you can't forget that one, that is one of the most devastating to someone who has been in the room.

So is Peter Budaj still alive?
- QuebecPride

They signed him to help with Markov's rehab.

Both should be good to go in Feb.

Cap is not important right now because the Habs will not attract any prime UFAs to spend it on. And if they do spend it, they will overpay for second line players on a really long term and be in the same boat.

There is not 1 FA the Habs can sign that will make this team dramatically better. Or even 2... heck, perhaps even 3. So cap space really becomes pointless unless you are determined to fill it with overpriced contracts on 2nd / 3rd line players.

Rebuild the team the proper way, don't worry about spending to cap if all you are gonna do is repeat the same mistakes.

- JDJ

And what about the players that need to be resigned.. with some sort of raise? You know... that kid... Price? and Subban ?

But I think I'm getting it now. The cap is not important anymore.. so we shouldn't have any problems getting those new contracts to fit in.. and it also means that we shouldnt b!tch anymore about Kaberlol's cap hit and Gomez's hit.

Thanks for clearing it up.

best assessment i've read yet. Molson won't do anything. at this point, i'd be surprised if he's relieved at season's end. it looks like Gauthier is gonna be given the chance to re-make this team his own way. Kaberle and Cammalleri trades (as well as the firing) all point in this direction. Molson won't really start to take notice until the revenue drops. however given the team's television ratings this season, that moment may be closer than we all think.

so they spent the last 20 minutes complaining about how that trading Cammalleri during the game screwed up their planning for the radio show last night and they had to start over...

that just great radio...

I find it hard to believe Habs fans are still clinging to the glory years to such an extent that they would en masse reject the team for finishing 27th instead of 20th, like that would really matter to people so much? Meanwhile in the name of getting a high draft pick?

Look what's happening after half a season of sucking. Now imagine a few years of that.
Besides, as bad as they are right now it's not bad enough, they need to get rid of Price for this to work.
