1 of Darche, Blunden, or Noke will likely sit regularly, Habs will go with 7D for the rest of the year - at least until they can trade a few of them.
- JDJ

Not to be an ass, but ok... And does anyone really care? As it stands now, that'll be Nokelainen on most nights, Plekanec, DD, Eller double-shifting... I'm ok with that too. Darche can sit when he wants to reward Cole.

Depends on the return.

love how Melnick is pleading with the world to understand this trade as well as he does.

apparently he's the only one who doesn't completely hate it.

- dt99999

i don't hate it. i like the second, i like the $3 million in cap space. why are we pretending that Cammalleri has been some kind of difference maker since the 2010 playoffs?

I actually don't understand why he's sitting so much. Do they really need 7 d-men if one of them is Weber or Campolli?

While I agree with your assessment, it is clear that Cunneyworth does not since Nokelainen, Blunden, Subban, Eller, Weber, Emelin have all seen the press box and Darche has not. So I'm thinking it'll be a stretch to have him sitting for Cole, let alone because of his actual value to the team.

I would have thought you more than anyone would have been most upset by this trade. Now there's no one on the team who talks Italian AND Hebrew.

WTF is this bullpoop?

I never said that, idiot.

I said buying out Gomez + Bourque's salary is almost a wash for Cammy's cap hit, if the Habs choose to do so, without incurring major cap headaches beyond what would have existed w/o the trade, as a way to get rid of Gomez (and, hence, not pay his full salary if he was in Hamilton).

Learn to (frank)ing read, idiot.

I don't get why they aren't sending Campoli to Hamilton.

There has to be a team out there interested in him, which is also why he's still playing. How can you send Woywitka, who brought something different to the team to Hamilton and lose him, but you aren't willing to take that same risk with Campoli?? Something isn't making sense.

If you love this trade, good for you.

I am indifferent on it. Not because I love Cammy (which I don't), not because I am not sold on Bourque (which I am not).

The 2nd is nice.

The added size is nice.

Trading an inconsistent player for another is a wash, in terms of production (not sure we get more player points out Bourque, nor lose any given the way Cammy has played).

I think cap room is sorta irrelevant at this point - Habs are not going to find anyone to spend it on, and they can already afford Price / PK with some tweaking. So I don't really consider that part of the "win scenario" of the deal.

I don't think it is a bad trade. I don't think it is a good trade.

That being said, the Flames are taking the biggest risk, but also have the biggest potential reward.

People who say one side got robbed or clearly one team won the trade really are not looking at it objectively.
