I hate to ask this... and I'm not trolling when I ask the inevitable...

But would Gauthier be making space for one Vinny Lecavalier? it would seem that the Habs have some young assets, particularly on the blue line that might make a deal possible.

I am not asking for your approval on believing what I want.

My point is, Cammi was underachieving big time in MTL, and did so last year as well. This team isn't making the playoffs. You get rid of him, you get space, you get a 2nd round pick, AND a guy who scores the same amount as Cammi. Then you get a prospect who could turn into an NHL player. Regardless of what Cammi does, this is a good deal for the Habs.

This is the truth.

He stated this morning he doesn't think it's a bad deal for Mtl.
- habby

I never said it was a bad deal either.

I think it is a wash, with the Flames having the better chances of coming out ahead if Cammy plays like he did 3 years ago.

sorry (genuniely),

seriously - you need to put the hat back on the avatar...something like a jester in response to Gauthier.

Depends who they sign with the extra 3 Mil.

Depends who the picks turn out being.

Depends if Holland or Ramo ever make it.

If you want to look long-term, gotta include all aspects of the trade.

They sign Price and Subban to new contracts with the space.

'cause its been discussed/debated/argued so many times before... but mainly because Gauthier's behavour seems radical and desperate... and something like Vinny would be just about crazy enough to fit...

he'll need to shed a bunch more space for that.

Marinara is just upset because the self-centered Italian guy is gone from the team. Basically, PG admitted that if he could, he would trade Marinara for Calgary's second line journalist who makes only half as many meataballs.

You get a guy who can potentially score the same amount as Cammy (if Cammy were to stay on the Habs). And be just as inconsistent.

I just think it is a wash. No real winners, no real losers.

People who think otherwise are really not looking at the trade objectively.

I want him fired but Gauthier has yet to trade away the likes of Luongo, Spezza, Chara for crap. I know I'm missing some, and that Gauthier is crap and needs to be fired, but still.

I think the risk/reward is higher for the flames. If Mtl made more trades like this one I think they'd be in much better shape.

They are not going to sign anyone.

Or... overpay for a 2nd line player and end up in the exact same place.

still chuckle when i think that he had luongo then traded him only to use a first overall pick on dipietro.
