M'eh, look at Luc Robitaille outside of LA, some guys just do better elsewhere. No reason he shouldn't have produced in Pitt.
I think Tanguay was too mentally soft for Mtl, and Cammi wasn't as bad here as he's being made out to be. Even if the trade was necessary. - habby
Not saying that Cammy was bad. Just that his numbers in Calgary are a lot higher than they were in Montreal. I think the system has something to do with that.

That and the fact that Calgary lets their first line free wheel a bit. Montreal....not so much.
Bourque will be a big, physical, third line guy who can sub into the top 6. The big bonus here is the cap space for the next two years. I love that Kaberle trade. - yemrots
I'd Put Bourque and Cole with Eller. |

Could be, I think it's more an Eastern Conference vs Western Conference thing, but who knows.
When was the last time CGY made the playoffs? |

At least once since the lockout. Panthers and Leafs only teams not to since. |

But beyond what Cammalleri could've provided in his performance (he wasn't likely to be the difference last night with zero shots on goal, zero points, zero hits, zero blocked shots), what kind of distraction is it for the team to know a player was pulled off the bench and traded mid-game, in a league where that just never happens?
It wasn't a distraction, it was a relief. - Pecafan Fan
Bang on. People are accusing PG of lying about the age of these trade discussions. I suspect these discussions have been ongoing... anyone with a brain cell who is watching this team knows Cammy had to go... I suspect Cammy knew the trade was coming eventually and chose to do 2 things. First, he hit the gas with his comments. Second, he fed his own ego and made it seem like the trade was his initiation. This is a good move. Never mind what Bourque brings. It offloads a bad contract, and it rids the dressing room of Cammy's selfish influence. |

Pacioretty has to be given top 3 minutes. Keep throwing him out there. He has the most talent on the team (forwards) and going forward has to be given the opportunity to take the next step.
He needs to stay with Cole...and maybe with that turtlenecked freak. Try and at least get a first line. |

Where was your complaining when he was Mtls best forward in the playoffs over the last few years? - habby
No one was complaining. He is a lot of fun to watch in the playoffs. But man, it creates one serious cramp in the eyeball to watch him in the 82 games leading up to. |

anyone member of the media who expects a GM to be entirely forthcoming about the details and reasons behind a trade - especially one done in these circumstances - probably thinks a bit too highly of themselves and their profession. |

Yeah, let's not mess with Cole, Patches and DD. And leave the Eller, AK and Moen line alone. Let's see if we can wake Pleks up with someone other than Cammy. I think the writing was on the wall when Cammy announced how much he liked playing with DD. You play with Pleks for 2 years, and announce how much you like another centre after 2 games with him? Let's try Pleks, Bourque and Blunden and see what happens. |
