How about looking at the trade itself instead of the person who did it?
- Pecafan Fan

I have already stated what I think of the trade.

No one wins, really, fairly even - both teams sorta got what they wanted. The deciding factor will be Cammy production vs the Flames cap hit impacts short term (this year, they will need to clear over $2M) and next year.

From a Habs fans perspective, it will be if they can live with Bourque's inconsistent play.

But when it has been reported other GMs would have made an offer, you have to wonder if the Habs could have gotten more, or perhaps, made a bigger deal.

"Blizzard-like" conditions here today too. Might be a whole inch of snow...but they're calling it a blizzard.

Curious to see what the habs will do with that pick. Nail and Mikhail will most likely be gone by then, leaving a bunch of D's available. Might be worth it to trade down a few spots for another pick and grab a forward around the 10-12th place

I'm surprised at your view of the trade. Your analysis is completely incorrect, IMO.

1 other GM.

And quite honestly, if said GM was too (frank)ing dumb to realize Cammalleri was on the market, well...

Feel free to defend PG if you want.

I just go by what is reported, what he has done in the past, and his actions during this trade.

If you wanna bonner all over PG, then go for it.

- JDJ

Something else comes to mind in EE's blog. Even if that said GM wanted to be called before the Halak deal was finalized, why would PG call him? That is not how you do business, you make your best offer the first time, not "oh call me just before you pull the trigger and maybe I'll sweeten my offer". I will give him credit for not calling. I still want him fired though.

Im not habing a Boner over PG.. .but Im not claiming I know how he works and go out against him like a blund fool ( fefan ou habs fan ) like many do today/this season.

You are the first to ask for a coach firing.. player trade and so on.. and yet .. when the GM actually does something ( used to be very rare thing to say about the Habs GM .. up until 2 months ago ) you go out against him stating facts that you read on the internet from blogers like EE that have personal agendas instead of acting like informed journalists.

so it's even, but no one wins. PG is awful, but maybe he could have made an even bigger higher risk deal? Am I missing anything?

I couldn't care less about Bourque, he's a 3rd liner being paid like a 3rd liner who can move up onto the top 2 lines occasionally.

i like the cap space and the pick, that's why it's a good deal for Mtl, they needed both badly.

It as also been repeated by other "informed journalist.. not blogers" that GM's did received word that CAmmy was availlable months ago.

But I guess you prefer to disregard that info and keep on saying that he did this traded blinded by a big bag of popcorn
