In the end, two struggling, enigmatic players were traded for one another. Rene Bourque has matched Cammalleri's goal production over the last three seasons (he's done marginally better, actually), but that speaks to his success as much as it does to his inconsistency.

And what does it say about Cammalleri?

Edit: I'll tell you what it says. He's an overrated, overpaid underachiever and a primadonna.

also I just called my snow removal guy and asked him if his truck hasn't shown up because he's afraid of crashing into all the other snow removal trucks that are cleaning all of my neighbors' driveways.

I think it's pretty (frank)ing rare for a $6M player to be shopped to "everybody". Those situations are usually a "Dany Heatley is unhappy" situation and the team is forced to try to get maximum value while trading partners are offering old jock straps in return.
- mcmanmat

Whether he shopped him to everyone or not, I still think after Cammy's comments, he just went back to the first GM he almost had a deal with and just made a trade.

Not saying it is a bad trade or that he could not have gotten more, but taking a day or so to listen to other offers is never a bad thing.

Not the first time PG has done that either.

I just think PG wanted it done and over - (frank) the consequences.

I like it a lot. Cammi was my favorite Hab, and I am sad to see him go. But with the way he's played this year, and the direction this team has been going in for a few years, this is a good trade for the Habs. Doesn't mean it won't work out for the Flames too. But regardless of how he performs in Calgary, I like this trade.

Overall I think the trade was fairly even. If there's a winner it may be the Habs because of the cap space saved.

Scott Gomez a pris le poste de Michael Cammalleri sur le trio de Tomas Plekanec. Pour le reste, aucun changement à l'avant.
