That's exactly the point most media in this province try to make.

You pass a guy like Giroux to draft a long shot American College kid? Really?

It's not as much about the language than it is the fact Giroux was in their own backyard.

- Pecafan Fan

I get the impression that they miss guys in their backyard because they're afraid they can't judge them rationally.

I don't have anything against Cunneyworth.

And I didn't have anything against Jacques martin.

My problem is people who praise Cunneyworth for sitting Eller but on the other hand were ready to crucify Martin for doing so. (Just an example).

- Pecafan Fan

Also, I can't wait to see him pull that crap on a veteran...THEN I would actually respect the move...

Let's see him sit a slumping gomez or a struggling plekanec...that requires more guts than picking on the young guy.

Trevor Timmins' love for the NCAA. Who was in charge of scouting the Q at that time Denis Morel? I think i talk about David the fish every god damn week

If I was to say the Habs need a "French Component" I would say that they need more french players...since as fans don't we associate with the players more than the coach?

I would give more merit to that argument (more french players) than this one (french coach)

NOTE: I give neither argument much merit...

Gingras is a fantastic technician (defense) and a great teacher, i will be fine with him considering Tinordi, Beaulieu and Ellis are coming.
- Habsody

Like is said, my son has been taking Gingras for years and I think he is a great teacher. He used to run the Habs rookie camp until Gainey got rid of him.

what they need to do then is get people to scout the Q who are not from Quebec.

Get some Swede or Finn or something to move over and check it out.

The difference is Cunneyworth seems to be an equal oppurtunity bencher. Look at the drop in minutes for Gill and Cammi. With Martin the veterans had a much larger leash.

He cut his ice time to waht? 17 minutes? down from 20?

Until I see him have veteran (other than Kostitsyn) ride the pine, I will alway think that he'll use the same few players to try and send a message...but the message would have a lot more weight if you are as strict with everyone

*envisions a period where the whole team is nailed to the bench...*

I think the difference is RC seems to be more willing to look at performance rather than status. JM gave the veterans a lot more leash than the young players. Eller was being outplayed so he sat, not a problem, Eller sitting so that a veteran can perform exactly the same or worse was a problem.

How long was this large leash of theirs?
