Didn't Ruff sign another (frank)ing extension? Something like 7 years? At what point do they decide a new direction is needed and try a new coach?

Also, hi boys.

Watch what you wish for. Having Scotty means you have McGuire. I like Gingras. My son has him every Tuesday.
- Champ

Gingras is a fantastic technician (defense) and a great teacher, i will be fine with him considering Tinordi, Beaulieu and Ellis are coming.

i would like to have a GM with a lot of charisma (prestance), someone that you can't bullpoop in a trade. And as a coach, he really was into the drafting process. he is a winner and a great hockey mind. As a non-factor, he has a great success history with the team.

He's 79 years old.

I have no problem with the fact Mtl needs a bilingual coach.

I think the answer is the same, although I think this is a more difficult task.

If I was to say the Habs need a "French Component" I would say that they need more french players...since as fans don't we associate with the players more than the coach?

I would give more merit to that argument (more french players) than this one (french coach)

NOTE: I give neither argument much merit...

- number_23

Problem is it's harder to find French players. How the (frank) did they miss Giroulx?

That would never happen if the Nordiques were in Quebec. Habs would have picked him without any hesitation.

Even though this is pointless...imma go out on a ledge and say NO...he's been away from Montreal for over 30 years...and if you don't use it, you lose it.

honestly, despite what that Richard Asp says, for a guy who is in the situation he's in... I think we can't expect much more....

I don't have anything against Cunneyworth.

And I didn't have anything against Jacques martin.

My problem is people who praise Cunneyworth for sitting Eller but on the other hand were ready to crucify Martin for doing so. (Just an example).

That's exactly the point most media in this province try to make.

You pass a guy like Giroux to draft a long shot American College kid? Really?

It's not as much about the language than it is the fact Giroux was in their own backyard.

I heard Le Tigre say that you'll never see teams with 13 and 14 Quebeccers on the roster (like the Habs and Nords of the 80's) simply because there's too much talent elsewhere. If one of the most pro-Quebec guys out there says that it means a lot...

Montreal is going to dump off a few more players and I bet they would love to get their hands on Gragnani and Gautier Leduc to help appease the clammer for French players. Do Josh gorges or Hal Gill interest anyone?

How can it be hard to find french players when anybody around the league knows they can dump off there garbage on the habs becuase of their last name.

Yeah the death seems a rational avenue. But would he work 2-3 years for the team, he could do a good job. As for the workload i believe that the assistant is there for that reason. i don't he is the best candidate, but yeah i want someone with a strong personnality (which is the exact opposite of PG), knows his stuff and know how to win in this league.
