The Dreamcast was THE system responsible for what we have now. That system was pretty amazing. The jump from the Saturn, PS1 era to the Dreamcast was massive. I can remember picking that up on launch day September 9th 1999. Seeing the football playing on the screen when I went into EB was pretty much jaw dropping. I yearn for that feeling again with what the next one's bring.

What happened with it? People went with the name Sony instead. (frank), remember Soul Caliber? Not sure if you're old enough to remember it. At the time it was one of the few games that got a perfect score, looked amazing. Going back looking at it now, isn't very impressive though.

Federal Liberals have elected the former head of the party's Ontario wing Mike Crawley as their new party president, effectively choosing him over Chretien-era, former cabinet minister Sheila Copps, who was said to be the other front-runner in what was deemed to be a hotly contested race.

what a mess....

edit: LOL!

Didn't it have a little screen in it's controllers?

I remember it I was still in elelmentry school though. I remember because when these cool games came out it sucked for me because I was stuck with a ps1.\
Then again I was the only kid with a Nintendo DS.

Yeah, the VMU. That was actually pretty smart. For the first time you didn't have to worry about your buddy copping your plays in football. You used the screen on the controller to call them.

I'm amazed at Sony's clout. I mean, when the PS3 came out, 360 and Wii were light years ahead with sales because Sony was taking their sweet ass time making game as 360 was churning them out like mad. That and that major online hacking last year. Things like those could put a console under, but no, Sony still stands tall.

Just like people with EA hockey, besides player graphics the 2k games were pretty good.

True. I'll be camping at Future Shop for the PS4 launch. Wonder what that'll be like.

You're right. 2K was the better game up until the end of them. They even charged half the price for the new ones near the end. That didn't make them any friends in EA.

I bought 2k10 a few weeks ago at Giant Tiger for $10 it was way more fun than NHL11. But now I bought NHL12 and it is much better than 11.

i always thought the 2k games lacked the gameplay but always had better options in the season and gm mode, also the fact that you could do more then one season at a time in season mode was nice as you can not do that in the e.a games.

The 2k games remind of what ea used to do with their hockey games. But ea fan boys wanted it to be less arcade and more sim. If I want real life like hockey I'll go play it myself. Video games should be fun not dealing with poke checking mad linebacker-esque d-men.

2K always had the better sports games. This was pretty much proven by EA purchasing exclusive NFL rights. If you can't beat em, make it so they can't make anything to beat you with anymore.

This is what I'd like to see. A shootout or game mode where you you play the goalie by using 4 Move controllers strapped to your legs and arms.

People consider the Madden series pretty bad compared to the NHL and FIFA games.

Remember the Free for All modes? They were on all the ps2 versions of the game until they stopped making ps2 games. And fantasy drafts in season mode. With 360 they don't have free for all and they put back fantasy draft in NHL10.
