I still think DD is the first to go, but that is just me... - JDJ
He'd be harder to trade |

Anyone is easy to trade, especially on what is likely to be a cheap contract, it is just the return that might not be exciting. |

Top 5 teams are in the lottery
30th position has a 48% of drafting 1st
Any team in the top 5 can move up to 4 spots and can't move down more than 1 spot. - Symba007

More than size, I suspect his mediocre (and I am being kind) defensive game will limit his worth on the trade market, especially if it is to a playoff team you hope to trade him to. - JDJ
Good point...he's gotten better but was so bad to begin with. |

Maybe if he works on it, but really, he has trouble covering his guy on the back check often, or that guy is jsut too big for him to cover effectively.
DD has surprised me this year with his offense and creativity, but the issues I was concerned about are still big issues. And that just makes him not very useful unless he is playing a top 6 role.
Maybe he can find a place, but I do not see him long-term in any way, unless the Habs keep drafting D. |

I didn't mean to trade him now, but if we draft a big C who is ready now, 1 of them has to go.
If we draft a winger it is easier to fit him in with the line-up as it is now - braidan
DD or Gionta has to go for the team to move onOne's old and overpaid and as hard as DD might work, he's still a mediocre C. |

Palm on forehead kind of take your best shot thing. Pretty much one dimensional and not necessarily top end at that. |
