I'd rather see Desharnais go than Pleks obviously. I think of Pleks as a solid Selke candidate. The package would have to be for a #1C

I can't see many teams wanting Desharnais. Too small for todays game.

It means the odds of going from 5 to 1st are slim, but nonetheless, possible

Trading Pleks is not the right things to do.. getting him a winger is.

The trash he had had to play with is really pathetic.

Top 5 teams are in the lottery
30th position has a 48% of drafting 1st
Any team in the top 5 can move up to 4 spots and can't move down more than 1 spot.

I agree.

Unless those teams have lots of size already and / or big wingers to play with him, them maybe the habs can get something for him, but I doubt anything spectacular.

Well, I think that C needs to be in development for a year (or two).

You don't trade a player based on what you might draft and where you might draft. If they pick up a C, and then make the assessment they can then trade Pleks afterwards, that is a much different story.

More than size, I suspect his mediocre (and I am being kind) defensive game will limit his worth on the trade market, especially if it is to a playoff team you hope to trade him to.

I didn't mean to trade him now, but if we draft a big C who is ready now, 1 of them has to go.
If we draft a winger it is easier to fit him in with the line-up as it is now

For DD to be effective, he will have to play like marty st.louis. But I can't see that happening
