Cervelli? Is that you?

That helmet would make a pitcher more likely to THROW AT IT. It's a bigger target than the catchers mitt. Not to mention it's massive size has a stronger gravitational force, thus drawing the ball closer. Bad idea. Bad bad idea.

My all time least favorite Islanders:
Kirk Muller (didn't play much but still tops the list as a holdout/quitter)
Jeff Norton (turnover machine, couldn't hit the bright side of the Moon)
Oleg Kvasha (exceptional talent, emotions of a Vulcan, heart of a jellyfish)
Brad Lukowich (PukeOwich-hard to believe he's still under contract, tho in AHL)
Jeff Tambellini (couldn't do it in the big show)
Robert Nillsson (did we really choose HIM over Parise, Getzlaf, M. Richards, Kesler and Perry????)

Breaking #Isles news: Rick DiPietro to have surgery Tuesday to repair a sports hernia. Season likely done. - Isles316
Hey Doc, might as well take out his appendix while you're in there. Just eliminating a future potential surgery. Think Ricky's earned the two-for-one discount at this point.
TSN reporting RD out for the year. Sports hernia. - bixll
that solves one problem. Plenty more to go though.
Next year's cba will hopefully include a penalty free buyout and if so, RDP would be the poster child for it. Would be tremendous if they could shed the terrible contract and not have to deal with 2-3 attempted comebacks per season that cost the team points.
Now move nabby, give montoya and poulin the keys and see if they can finish somewhere around .500

Why would the Isles buy him out, penalty-free or otherwise? They need his salary to reach the cap floor. He's not going anywhere, imo. Come 2012-13, we'll be arguing here again about how bad he is and how he shouldn't be in the goaltending equation, and the other side will argue, no, this time he's really-really healthy and deserves a chance to show what he can do...and how this injury is not related to the others so it really doesn't count.
