Correct, but generally when the Flyers make a UFA their number one priority, they get him. Obviously it's not a guarantee though. - LeachHextall27
If the Flyers target Suter and he stays with Nashville the entire Season. Expect the Flyers to make a deal for his rights before July 1.

They wanted Hamhuis but obviously the player wanted otherwise. Who knows if Suter has a different destination in mind if he's already made up his mind he isn't staying in Nashville.
I'd love for them to get him though. Doing one of these moves doesn't exclude doing the other though either. |

Suter has been quoted as having no problems playing for the Flyers. What is the golden rule most people seem to be ignoring in the forum today? Don't trade for a pile of leafs, ever. |

What did you expect him to say?
I'd never want to play for those scummy Flyers? |

How can Suter say that? is he a UFA already 1/2 through the year? |

Weber isn't a UFA....But I agree, When a UFA like Suter is available this summer, no reason to trade a JVR for someone who certainly is not Suter - Just5
It depends what the full trade is. A good trade is a good trade. |

Which is precisely why I'd prefer to hold onto JVR. Why trade one of our core young forwards right now when we can get Suter as a UFA? - LeachHextall27
I don't think it's a matter of the Flyers shopping or trying to trade JvR. But if they see a way they can help their team, they have to consider it. |

no idea. |

Luke Schenn and Nazim Kadri for JvR and Blake Kessel straight up? Who wins this deal? If this deal is too heavy for one side, how could it be made to be evening out?
With all this talk, I think we're making too big a deal of Luke Schenn. Maybe even making too big a deal of Ryan Suter. Shea Weber is the big fish. We need all the facts in that area. |

only way we get Weber is by including Luke Schenn and Brayden Schenn. Only time will tell. |

The Flyers win that deal. Hands down. Schenn and JvR are established young NHLers with lots of potential. Kadri is a top prospect. Kessel is a middle of the road prospect.
Suter is a very good defenseman. Weber's better, but Suter is the one that is a UFA in July |

I would give them both Schenn's and their parents to create more hockey Schenns |

Could acquiring L Schenn be part of another deal to flip him to Nashville for a Weber or Suter? I would think Schenn to Nashville would entice and make them happier knowing they are getting another good young dman to replace a Suter or Weber....just thought of this. |

I'd doubt it. Nashville needs help up front and has a stable of defensemen on hand. |

We need more of these. Whoever looks best in a Flyers sweater is who they should acquire. I think the big bearded Weber pic would win though |

My question to you is who is a better player, JvR or Getzlaf? Just curious. - stveshdy
Right now? Getzlaf is in a different league. |
