Luke Schenn's name has been coming up in popular trade rumors.
One popular rumor involves Schenn going to Philadelphia in a deal involving James van Riemsdyk. Such a trade would unite Luke with his younger brother Brayden. Rumors like this are bound to pop up as we approach the trade deadline and while some of them might prove to be true, many of them won't. For his part, Schenn isn't buying into the speculation. "I’m happy being here in Toronto," Schenn said. "They’re just rumours and it doesn’t really mean much to me."

I got my Russian Blue from them about 8-9 yrs ago. awesome sweet cat - nastyflyergirl
Ziggy is a blue (but has white markings, so he's "flawed"). Got him from PAWS. But they are just really human-centered, friendly cats. My first blue used to play fetch with a superball. He was a little dog in a cat suit. |

Ur looking at it from a fans perspective. Every fan wants to acquire offense in trades and sign defense, its how our minds work bc we like to see our teams score. However, after watchin Luke Schenn battle and smash guys like he does on our blueline you would quickly change ur tune. In his lesser role this year (only due to the emergence of Gunnarsson, Gardiner, and Franson) he is still playing great hockey for us. He is not inconsistent, and he is not struggling imo, he is playing very solid and jumping in on the play alot more, but has been extremely unlucky at points this season (pucks in off stick, or his own skate etc.) He leads the league for hits by a defenseman for the second straight year, and will block any shot. It is key to understand that uniting him and his brother will bring out the "hometown feel" and comfort level for them to push eachother to be the best they can be, just like the Sedins or Niedermayers which is a huge positive for ur club, all the while adding the piece you wish you had in Coburn, and IMO a potential captain going forward. That being said i would consider the swap, if a couple pieces were added on both ends. And no, sorry but I would NEVER part with Kadri in this deal, or virtually any deal at this point (unless getzlaf or ryan); not for any players not named Giroux which you guys OBVIOUSLY wouldn't do lolll. Kadri is a "franking" wizard and when he plays with confidence (how hes playing now) its fricken scary, ull see what i mean in a year or so when promoted to playing with better players. If this deal went through it would benefit the leafs immensely in this respect as Kads with JVR could make for a sick young duo with Kadris playmaking as good as it is. (Lombardi and Mac cant finish his sick setups). Anyway sorry for the massive reply just thought id give you a Leaf fans incite. - Rysko81
No, that's where your wrong, bud. I think JVR will be an all-star in the near future, and possesses talent that few NHL players can say they have (hence why the lad was drafted #2 overall in the 2007 draft).
Schenn is a great young d-man, but I'd rather just go get Gleason or Beauchemin given their price. Then target a #1 defenseman in the off-season should Prongs have to retire. |

I agree 100%... by trading key assets for him, the org would be at Suters mercy. - jak521
That's how Pronger got his Golden Parachute contract. |

I'm not liking what I read about JVR's injury a week or so ago. That hip thing is not that easy to recover from and from what I understand it can return even after surgery. He already skates like a newborn giraffe. I'm not sure if his style is contributing to the hip condition or not. |

I believe it will, but it's frustrating to watch in the moment. I feel like he's slowing down G and Hartsy right now. |

Well, I guess we'll see how the surgery affects him next season. No need to speculate about it potentially coming back. |

I think 95% of posters have echoed your sentiments. That's the clear way to go. That being said if the JVR for Schenn trade goes down, you will have a faction of people defending it, lauding Holmgren for making a great trade.

FWIW, Tocch said on Twitter today that Berube would be one of his first choices as a head coach if he were GM.
Like I said, FWIW. |
