Jagr's injury/health seems to have the Giroux line way off. He simply doesn't look like himself, and it seems to be throwing everyone else off by a hair. On top of that, though, they haven't been anywhere nearly as dogged at controlling the puck in the offensive zone. G seems to feel like he has to pass more than just ripping a shot off.

Giroux should see what Cooter is doing and follow suit.

I love Cooter and think he's going to be beauty, I had no clue until this week that he had a howitzer, he needs to shoot more.

His patience with the puck is causing chaos for the goalies, he's outweighting them and ripping it home. 19 freaking years old, wow.

Yea the flyers need a physical dman that's gonna clear the net. Tons of deflections last night again. Since prongs went down there's not that guy that's just pounding people down low

No doubt.

He had a couple of good looks last night that he passed up on.

Shoot it Claude!

funny, it's a weird thing sometimes you need to be told.

I used to always look to pass first until my cousin blasted me and told me, shoot the puck you idiot.

Now they wish I passed more

And Giroux is definitely forcing the play again. All Season long he was excelent in making decisions with the puck. Not lately

my thoughts on the JVR for Schenn RUMOUR.

I would like to think the Flyers could get more for JVR,that's no shot on Schenn because I think he is a solid dman who could become a very solid second pairing dman who plays with grit (something the Flyers need on D IMO).

That said I think JVR could become a 40 goal scorer and if healthy this season may have come close to that, it's hard finding big forwards with 40 goal potential.

That said the Stars had to give up Neal to get a Goligoski, totally different dman then Schenn but proof you almost have to overpay to get a young NHL caliber 20+ minutes a night dman.

I'd rather they look for grit somewhere else, maybe trying to get a Salvador type dman along those lines at a much much lower price.

I wouldn't be thrilled with a JVR/Schenn deal but I also wouldn't be doing a swan dive off the nearest bridge.

Get out of my head!!!

I think both teams value the player that they have right now, and that if it does happen, while I'd want more than Luke Schenn, I think it would end up as a straight swap.

I think it's also based on the situation in Anaheim. I think Burke's first targets would be the guys he drafted/developed in Anaheim, namely Getzlaff, Perry or Ryan. I think to Burkie, JvR would be the top fall back option if he can't make a deal with his old team.

You said it better than I did. Giroux is definitely forcing things too much.

Yea, a little too cute for my liking.. I think having Jags a step or two behind hurts a ton.. I would like to see what a guy like Voracek could do on that line..

At the end of the day, we have won, what, 4out of the last 5, with out this line rolling.. thats a good thing. Ultimately though, they need to get moving again.

It seems whatever is wrong with his leg/groin is holding him back. He doesn't seem comfortable or anywhere close to 100%
- Jsaquella

Possibility. I think when players are struggling that injury is kinda the escape goat tho. Not saying it is the case here but just a broad statement.

If Homer trades JVR I really hope it's a no brainer.
I'm tired of young players getting traded before they reach their potential.
JVR may never be a 30-35 goal guy but it's the chance I'm willing accept.
Homer should make other teams overpay for once.
Although I think we got the better of the Carter trade to Columbus.

He's really starting to blossom, and he's not ignoring his defense as he gets more comfortable with the offensive side of things.

Lovejoy and Tangradi. . . . no more! I mean Giroux has 1 point in 4 games so he won't fetch much more then that.

It is, I really thing he should have taken more games off to rest the injury. He was supposed to be out a week to ten days, came back in 4

HarryZ and Read as wingers can't hurt either.

HarryZ's hustle and Read's smarts coupled with the Cooter is one hell of a 4th line

With Claude shooting the puck it keeps the defense honest. The D-men stop looking for the pass first when defending Claude because he stops being 1 dimensional.

Besides, he has a sweet twisted wrister!

Yeah, I've really been noticing this as of late. Not a lot of hitting going on from our D. Very un-Flyers like.

And on the topic of Luke Schenn, I don't think he's the answer in the slightest. I don't think his name even gets brought up if his brother isn't on this team.

How long before people start insisting he get top-6 time?

I love that he's being brought up slowly and allowed to develop his NHL game. It's working out nicely.

Stuff like that is why I'm not closed to a trade. We have seen him have good games during the times he's been hurt, and if he's going to be invisible, then shut him down and fix the damned problem so he's ready for the postseason.

Dear God.. sounds like he was invisible. If he's hurt I say sit him, but it's probably an injury that can't get worse/ needs surgery in the offseason. It's gotta be that. I can't beleive that he completely forgot how he played in the playoffs last year.
