Hmmm, I guess we all have our favorite teams to hate. I think the Sabres have actually been a decent model (like Nashville) for a smaller market team over the years. I was shocked to hear how much their payroll was this season. Like Brad said they do have a some decent talent on that team. It just seems like they are always having one or two of their key guys out of the lineup and they're not able to score enough. Plus the D is in disarray this season as Brad also mentioned. I really like Ennis. Have since he played in the Dub. - rockychocbill
I see them as a big market team. Their market is incrediblely rich with hockey history. Nashville would be a small market team. Phx etc...
Buffalo imo is a big market that they've failed to capitalize on. Mainly cause their teams haven't had much to care about since Briere and Drury left. |

I consider big market to mean potential corporate sponsorship though. No doubt there is a strong hockey following in that town. |

Anyone else disappointed that no one from the Flyers stepped up after that hit on Max. I can't remember who was on the ice but someone should have gone right after staois. Or at least fired a puck at his head as he sat on the bench laughing. I'm sorry boys but that was sad. You know Max would have do something if someone on his line got hit like that. |

nope not worried about it. at first it appears as though Talbot was going to get up and skate to the bench, in the meantime Staos went to the bench.

They would adjust to what he does. - JoeRussomanno
How is that? Hit the deck?
They don't screen the goalie enough as it is, and we don't even shoot from the point. - archion113
Yeah we don't now that Timonen and Carle quarterback. There was plenty of shooting from the point when Pronger was running the Power Play. The only consistent shooter we have back there is Meszaros.
Hartnell will be fine, Weber shoots High, not along the ice... - RooNosHockey
So better that Hartnell loses teeth then his knees?
They definitely would all need the super skate boot guards. - bodiva88
No Doubt about this, I couldn't agree more. Players these days probably should anyway but with a Cannon from the point like Weber's, you have to be prepared. You don't always know exactly where the puck could end up. |

he probably would have. but if you think that becaue the other guys on the ice didn't step in at that time to fight Staois means there is a bigger issue here, i disagree. |

Oh NOO!!! If anyone is interested in a very sweet cat, Morris Animal Refuge has an adult male Russian Blue. He's beautiful and I know those cats are amazingly sweet-natured and smart. |

The replay on NHL.com wasn't much better. It's obvious Staios took advantage of Max turning as he comes out of the zone. I couldn't really see where the point of contact was from the replay. The players on the ice may not have seen it either, or just thought it was a big hit. |

No I don't think there is a bigger issue, I just think that as a team you stand up for others on the team when something like that happens. Max is the type of team guy that would have done it if someone else got hit like that. No I think this team is much more so a team then last year's. That part of the reason I was surprised. |

Did anyone else see the hit before Staios went to the bench? Is Staios is in next week, they might get thier retribution then.
BTW.. has Talbot had a single fight at all this season? I was under the impression that he would ocassionally drop the gloves in Pittsburgh, was I wrong? |

oh, ok. misunderstood. the only player on the ice at that time that could have done anything was Coburn and I don't know if he saw the hit or not. Wouldn't have expected Couturier or Read to have done anything (with any success). |
