last night bob made a great save and the camera immediately cut to bryz sitting by himself behind the glass in the runway with a grumpy look on his face. i was howling.
- hammarby31

funny how a player who was so hyped has become a non factor at this point in time

Can you imagine the media circus with the goaltending when the playoffs start? It's headed towards the same stuff we saw last year.

At least they've upgraded the goalie carousel this year.

In theory that is true. When the Flyers signed Bryzgalov I never thought in my wildest dreams that Bob would see any playoff time unless there was an injury. Right now Bob would be the playoff starter.

This is exaclty what I DO NOT want. If Bryz doesn't sort it out, name Bob the starter and go from there. None of this musical goalie game to game poop.

I like Landeskog, but the idea with him was that he would be better than the rest now, while not having the top end some most of the other top 15 or so had. Couterier could have gone second..
- jak521

True and I think Landeskog is going to be a excellent player but this draft for a few teams will start to see results next season, well for some hopefully, and then we can really see how the other draftees wil pan out

Just goes to show you how important a good backup is, even with a solid #1.

Hell, Lundqvist has Marty Biron as a backup.

I like the way Bob is playing no doubt about that. What if Bob continues this level of play the rest of the year? Then what?

Biron is a very capable backup, a perfect compliment to a legit # 1 guy, the thing is, he knows his role.

Right now Bobrovsky is outplaying Bryzgalov by a wide margin, that wasn't supposed to happen.

Upgraded in salary and term I guess. Need a thrid tender in the mix.

I still cannot believe that Lavy threw Leighton in vs Buffalo last year in the playoffs.

Agreed, but that's only an issue if the #1 falters. I remember some people wanted to trade Bob saying it was useless to have a good goalie as a backup. Obviously, Bryz needs to get it together, but what if Bryz was playing well and got injured? This is why you do need a capable backup, because you never know what's gonna happen.
