I wonder if Winnipeg is going to regret taking Mark Scheifele over Sean Couturier in a couple of years.
- bradleyc4

I think a few teams are already regretting it

I like the cut of your jib.

Discussing a JvR trade, and even being open to it, does not mean I'd champing at the bit to make it happen.

- Jsaquella

My point with that is that you can wait till july and take a shot at Suter.. and still have plenty of cap space to make other changes.. the good thing about this roster is that as guys are up for new deals (RFA) other guys with big contracts will be up for UFA (Timonen and his 6, Hartnell and his 4, Briere and his 6). I know you have to fill their voids, but Timonen and Briere will never see that type of money again).

Also a correction for my numbers from earlier.. JvR gets a 3 mil raise.

Despite winning these last two games this team hasnt looked that good through the past 4 imo. Thankfully Bobrovsky looked like what we all hope he can be in the past two, and that's not a slight to Bryz as I still believe he's the better goalie, not on paper of course but Bobrovsky is really playing great right now. Hopefully he can keep it up.

The team can't continue to play like this and hope it will win. We have Boston in a week and a half with some other notable teams as well, that I really don't think they will beat regardless of the netminder's play. The playoff race is going to be a real dogfight this year and the Flyers could easily be on the outside looking in if they slip into a second half slump like they did last year.

If that goal was scored on Bryz.. he would have been murdered twelve times by sunday on here.

The good thing is, they are winning games when they are not playing well. That is the sign of a good/ resilient team.

Does anyone else find this comment by burke very telling?

Burke also said he would not be against “trading a 22-year-old of one position for a 22-year-old of another position.”

Agreed on both points.

And the Ducks GM said only Koivu and Selanne were untouchable. Although, I assume Fowler and Perry would be next in line on that list.

- bradleyc4

Well, and he says that because the former are the two with NMCs that they wouldn't waive. But you'd have to blow his mind to make a deal for the latter two.

They can send Bryz to Switzerland to play with Huet if they want.
- eayost

Could you imagine. Bryz to Swiss team.. Leighton called up to backup, Bob gets hurt going into playoffs. Leights and Bacon chicahuahua take the reigns!

I like Landeskog, but the idea with him was that he would be better than the rest now, while not having the top end some most of the other top 15 or so had. Couterier could have gone second..

Does Bryz's contract have a no movement clause in it?

Either telling or just another smug way to keep the media focused on potential mythical trades and not his team.

What if one player was just turning 23 and one was still 22? Judging from this quote, I doubt Burke would do that deal.

I would just like to get some guy that is gonna grow with this team...not saying schenn is going to be the next pronger or webber but the potential is there....same with JVR you cant say hell be the next leclare but the potential is also there...it be happy with a one for one trade...
- Philly1980

Yeah, because the current roster is full of guys who've grown with the team and that's something the Flyers really concentrate on. Richie and Carts and Sbisa are the centerpiece of our future.

What? When? How?
