Easily the worst (frank)ing penalty i've ever seen.

Not as bad as that Hamonic high stick on Orpik.

that call on Nabakov was kinda weak ... but those things usually even out over the course of a game. Isles had some good energy in the first. The Flyers are lucky to be up one zip.

False when you're the New York Islanders.

I finally got out there to see one last night (I have season tix, but I sell most of them, because I don't really live anywhere near the building). Thought we outplayed them for most of the game, but we just can't score...and Bobrovsky absolutely robbed Grabner, who finally, for once in his life, made an actual move coming at the net on a break.

That said, a couple of complaints (why not....everyone else does ):

1. Nabokov needs a rest. I realize they are trying to showcase him, but it's going to backfire if he plays EVERY GAME.

2. That also said, the second goal, while an atrocious job on Nabokov's part, was really Bailey's fault, for not making the easy dump down the ice when he had the chance. I don't know what it is about the number 12...it's like Vukota cursed it..."and from this day forward, anyone who wears my number shall instantly become a f**king retard."...this isn't Kindergarten, buddy. You can't d*ck around with the puck for two minutes trying to figure out what to do. He's really got to stop thinking and start doing, as I've said repeatedly.

Despite losing, I think the isles played real well. Tht's how they have to play every night. Fast, physical, aggressive. They were in that game the whole time because of the effort. It was nice to watch. I hope they play the rest of the season like they did last night.

On a negative note, the isles cant beat philly. Ever. That's become a real problem. They cant beat anyone in their division. They play 24 divisional games a year and maybe win five. You can't go 5-19 every year against your division and expect to make the playoffs. They have to start beating teams in their division.

I felt like I was alone in thinking Nino was playing better. I don't think he's the type of player that can carry two weak linemates, though, and especially not now. He gets the puck in the high slot and shoots, but no ones in front of the net to create traffic or try for a rebound. When he's in front of the net creating traffic, no one sees him and Wallace and Pandolfo just play with the puck along the boards. But, at least from what I see, Nino's not just immediately smacking the puck forward when he gets it, he's skating better, and hitting a little more. Maybe the game's not moving quite as fast for him anymore. But it really is time to put him on another line and give up on this "Rolston as a top-nine forward" thing.

They just need to put Rolston in more important situations. He needs top line mins & he should without question be double shifted & sometimes triple shifted. Im just not sure the rest of the team could keep up with his excellence of execution.

Wasn't he complaining when he got here about how the Devils misused him? No, pal, it seems the Devils had you figured out.

yes & i "think" thats part of the problem with him.. when we traded for him, he made his objections & our GM expecting more from him gave him reassurances that he would be put into important situations & not just be a bottom 6 plug.
We have reached the point where those promises need to be reneged & he needs to be getting 4th line min & second unit PP if any time at all.

Agreed. 1/2 a season is a more than fair audition, and I'm sure the promise came with the expectation of more than 8 points by the middle of January.

Trent Hunter would be more effective. At least he hits and shows up to play.

Which he did...Sorry. He was announced as the 2nd assist on the Okposo goal.

It's alright. That's basically what I had pointed out. They changed it, and the point streak stayed alive when he scored late in the game. Crazy that his point streak was mainly off assist's. 6 straight games with at least 1 or more assist's. Still he is on pace to be a point per game player this year.

It's only because PA was on his line for most of the season
