In a perfect world, Hartnell would have been there. But guys like Alfredsson are on this team, that's why I hate the fan voting! I heard on Bob Mackenzie's twitter that they were going to give Hartnell the call, until they saw that 4 flyers are already represented, so they gave Corey Perry the nod instead. I don't know if this is true.

Love Hartnell. I think he's true class. Wish he was a B.

It'd just be nice to see a guy whose most popular video on Youtube features him falling on his ass or throwing a glove at a guy on a breakaway.

At the time of the vote, Michalek was 4th in the entire league in goals. While he was voted on the team, him being there isn't as completely ridiculous as some suggest.

On his own right, should he be there? No, not when I consider that Parise and Vanek were left off but it was a vote thing the NHL has in place. Don't be mad at Michalek or Alfie for getting voted in, be mad at your own fans for not stuffing the ballot as well. Hard to be outraged after the fact when clearly even your fans didn't represent Hartnell.

Don't be mad at Ovechkin getting in either. Fact is it is an all star weekend and when the face of the NHL is concussed and out, the NHL will want the other face in, like it or not. On his own merits, he also doesn't deserve to be in.

It is what it is, the outrage isn't worth it in my opinion. Had only Spezza and/or Karlsson been on the team, you wouldn't get much more of a reaction out me other than a rolling of the eyes either.

Why should Hartnell be on the all star team? Because he is more deserving than Ovechkin. What about Backstrom? Or Vanek? or Parise? Kovalchuk, Neal, Patrick Sharp or Kopitar? No reasons were given as to why Hartnell is more deserving than any of these other players. I hate articles like this because it just makes the writer look clueless about the topic he is writing about. It seems his only other argument is that Hartnell is obvioulsy not an all star, so the one season he has numbers comparable to one, he should be let on simply because it is his only chance in his career. Good one.

I would like to see Hartnell at the skills comp. Put him in the breakaway challenge- he's a funny guy- I'd like to see what he'd do! Plus I think he'd have a blast
