It was vicious, needless, typical Neil hit, looking for a guy in a vulnerable spot & destroying him. He leveled Avery a few years ago too in a game early in the season & seperated his shoulder.
- B2B76

He also used to go after Prucha mercilessly and it even carried over to when Prucha went to Phoenix

What about Lidstrom getting snubbed
- Rags2Riches

We know Selanne was asked before it was announced and asked out. I would guess that happened with Lidstrom, too. Remember the ridiculous threat to suspend guys who claimed injury last year to just get a long weekend? The league doesn't need that black eye again.

He's a bully, remember him also going at Staal in his rookie year along with that other POS Ruutu & when Colton Orr asked for a dance Neil wanted none of it.

He didn't. Selanne and Lidstrom said they didn't want to play in it.

That was a brutal hit, but honestly, was he even called for a penalty on that? It was before the headshot rule for sure.

I don't like Neil either but he's good at his job & one of the hardest hitters I've ever seen, nasty SOB.

- B2B76

Remember when the rangers had an offer in on him? now it would be, but he didn't get the elbow up. it was close to legal back then. was a split second late though. poor biron

no, I actually remember when he tried to murder Chris Drury when he played with Buffalo, a hit that was about one thousand times worse than anything Wolski did to Alfi earlier this season.
- jimbro83

No penelty on the play. It was a mean hit for sure. He'd be suspended now for sure, but it was before the head shot rule. It bears mentioning that Drury was guilty of admiring his pass. Keep your head up.

Alot of the hits Stevens was so well known for would be illegal now.

As mentioned above, the rangers were pretty keen on him a few years back. I'm guessing you'd all be saying something different about him then. He fits his role well, if he's on your team you love him, if not, well, you hate him. He's a middle wieght, he doesnt fit the mold of a heavy weight, and has never pretended to be one.

He's no avery, thats for sure.

That's a disgusting play

Drury bled all over the ice. All over the ice.

Did Alfie bleed all over the ice from the Wolski hit earlier this year?

you guys have biatched incessantly over that play since it happened

A few years ago, after the the drury hit but beofre the head shot rule, Alfie got aboslutley destroyed by Bell. It was just as bad as the Neil hit, it was a clean hit then, no call on the play. Now it would be a penelty.

Your comparing two plays that happened with vastly different rules in place.

what I am doing is making fun of the fact that you guys are calling for "revenge" on Wolski tonight, when your altar boy has literally tried to kill people on the ice in the past, legal or not legal.

Are you voting on numbers or sentiment? If numbers, no way this year.
- airjan23

Even stats based, he should have gotten in ahead of Buff. Similar offensive numbers but Lidstrom is +17, Buff is -8.

I hope Neil or Konopka do something stupid, then maybe we could cash in on some powerplay time.

Wolski was penalized = illegal hit

Neil was not = legal hit.

Amazingly one hit was delivered by a man and the other by the hockey equal to Jar Jar Binks.
