Or re-entry waivers earlier in the year. They can trade for him if they want him that badly.
- bonzo11

I think if they trade for him now he'd have to clear re-entry waivers to play in the NHL, but considering there was no interest before, I'm not sure what a risk there'd be. Not sure if the trade could be conditional on his clearing.

If that team wanted him badly enough, they should have picked up the full contract on the way down. No reason NYR should be stuck with half the hit. Let him rot.

kind of a silly rule in my opinion. that team should not have to worry about him being claimed when it was the previous team that sent him down.

While each of the four have arguments for being named to the team, the fact they were elected starters had everything to do with Ottawa fans stuffing the ballots because the game is in Ottawa. Hey, whatever, not a big deal. Did all four deserve to be starters? No. Does it matter that much? Again, no. Every year there are many players that had a case for all-star selection but get snubbed. This year is no different. In fact, I'd almost rather have none of our guys play just so they can avoid even the remotest chance of injuring themselves.
- gkmkiller

About the starters couldn't agree more. All 4 deserve to be there (except Alfie- hurts for me to admit- are all locks regardless of where it takes place). Michalek had 9 goals in his last 8 games coming into today's decisions making him the 4th best goal scorer in the league (despite missing games to concussion). As mentioned above Spezza is 11th in the league and Karlsson.....well he's a starter even if the all star games in Iraq.

why I mentioned if game is out of hand or decided and he is on the ice
- airjan23

Exactly. If it is a close game nothing will happen. If one team is up 3 goals late I could see Neil or Konopka going after Wolski.

Better question is, based on stats, should Ovi be in the game?

Based on stats or his actual play there is no reason he should have made it.

I feel like I am one of the few who want to see Wolski do good tonight. Everyone seems they would rather his skull get bashed in

As long as the team keeps winning, I don't care what happens. However I don't think Wolski is gonna do anything but ruin the chemistry that the team has now.

So if it means he gets his head beat in and goes on LTIR for the good of the team, I say the needs of the many out way the needs of the Wolski.

Michalek has 22 goals and thought he would be elected as a starter. Is Spezza more deserving than Malkin or Stamkos as a starter? Is Alfredsson more deserving than Kessel or Lupul? That's what I meant. Thought they would get in, just others more deserving as starters, not that the distinction really matters that much.
- airjan23

I agree - Karlsson deserves the start, none of the rest do (though I have no issue whatsoever with Spezza starting - it's not exactly a travesty).

Sorry, but are you saying Chris Neil should be in prison? Why, exactly? For being effective in his role? Or are you just confused as to who he is?

no, I actually remember when he tried to murder Chris Drury when he played with Buffalo, a hit that was about one thousand times worse than anything Wolski did to Alfi earlier this season.

That was a brutal hit, but honestly, was he even called for a penalty on that? It was before the headshot rule for sure.

I don't like Neil either but he's good at his job & one of the hardest hitters I've ever seen, nasty SOB.

I think they still are trying to get Drury's blood off the ice from that hit.

It was vicious, needless, typical Neil hit, looking for a guy in a vulnerable spot & destroying him. He leveled Avery a few years ago too in a game early in the season & seperated his shoulder.
