I'm not stupid enough to think the habs are going to turn things around because of a move like that. But maybe, finally, they realize their "core" isn't what they need in order to be competitive (especially with Boston in their division) and they are going to find ways to dismantle it and hopefully be better for it in the long run.

He may very well do so. But it doesn't matter from a Hab standpoint, because he was doing very little on the positive side in MTL.

That was to fix the PP. Someone forgot to tell Gauthier that the game tape was a DVD. Gauthier hit play on the VCR and got some old footage of Kaberle with the Leafs, went ahead and made the trade.

I am convinced Gauthier was targetting Umberger but finally went with Bourque after CBJ announced Umberger was out with a concussion.

Nobody expect it them to turn it around overnight. I just think that it is a grave mistake to let Gauthier make these moves. Come on, did you here his press conference. We realize now we need to get bigger. Goals are no longer scored from the outside. WTF! Now he realizes it.

Ramo is Nittyamki-like, i highly doubt about that. On the flip side, this Culle...errr Holland guy could turn out to be significant.

Nope, but Gauthier sure can't and he should not be allowed. I have not judge the trade. All that's being said is Gauthier did not talk to the 23 teams that he would accept the trade.

When a player causes a uproar(right or wrong) and its plastered all over every sport media outlet, it does not take a genius to pick up the phone and see if he is available.
I think everybody and their sister knew he was available.
