Someone is going to look at Gomez and think he can be saved with a change of scenery, plus your getting a 7 mil cap hit for much less money which will be attractive to teams with a low cap number.

Also, there are 29 teams that would buyout or bury the (frank)er if he doesn't produce, where the habs have no balls to do such a thing.

Habs: Travis, wanna take a shot at a playoff run with another team?

Moen: Yeah, that would be nice.

Habs: Good, good. We really like the way you play and would like to strike a deal with you next summer.

Moen: Get it done.

He already won a Cup. That said, I assume he'd want another. But your scenario is best case, of course.

fans are hard on Moen when JM would play him in the top six but he is a great depth guy.

Moen, Gill, Kabby, AKost ( then resigned in the off season ), Campoli ( OH PLEASE GOD! ), Weber....
- 25th CUP OR BUST!

I think if Gauthier plays his cards right (which is smallish in percentage chance of happening) he could easily get teams to over-pay a little for Gill and Moen. Gill for his last two playoff seasons, and Moen for his playoff past and his excellent regular season to date. I don't know what we'd get for Kostitsyn, but it's definitely worth exploring as I've mentioned in previous posts this morning. I don't think Kaberle would fetch much, but getting rid of the contract for the next 2 seasons would be the addition for me. I think a Kaberle trade will really be decided based on Markov's status. Honestly, I personally am no longer holding my breath for Markov, but if he can get just healthy for Gauthier to feel like Kaberle is expendable, that'll be good enough.
