I'm certain some people on my fb feed believe it is the worst trade the Habs have ever made.

who other than marinaro hate sthis deal???

I'll withhold judgement. I'm glad they got cap space and a 2nd, but i don't trust Gauthier to make the best move.

I still think it is a fair trade, with Calgary taking most of the risk due to Cammy's cap hit if he does not start scoring.
- JDJ

Wanted to lose some salary, wanted to pick up a little grit. Habs don't lose this deal.

Lebrun, Spector

Considering the situation I can't believe the habs got a guy who can play a bit, a 2nd round pick and cap space.

Any GM who's saying he didn't know clammy was available is full of poop. Who's surprised by this? They're just trying to stir poop up.

Bourque has scored at a comparable pace to Cammalleri over the last 3 yrs or so, he is bigger, hits more and his cap hit is roughly half.

I fail to see exactly how we lose this deal.

It has been reported by Lebrun that another GM did not know Cammy was on the block, or he would have made an offer to the Habs.
- JDJ

Is this other Gm retarded by chance? How can any GM be stupid enough to NOT know Cammy was on the trade block after his blow up.

Agreed, GM's say this almost after every trade now.

Can't say I disagree, I still think he needs to go. On the otherhand I though Murray in Ottawa was even worse and he seems to have made an adjustment to his plan and it's working.

Perhaps it was one of the 7 teams Cammy has a no-trade clause to, so Gauthier did not bother or did not think he could do better.

Perhaps I would care if I was pissed at this trade.

I can live with it, see the upside for the Habs, see the upside for the Flames... good hockey deal.
