Also my Girlfriend got us tickets for the game in Philly on Thursday. Are we going to get beat up?

As long as you don't show up with beer muscles and act like tools you'll be fine.

he probably should have missed a shift. writers seem to be insinuating he didn't look right afterwards. not sure it was exactly theatrics. there's not really a good replay, but it's at least a head hit, if not an elbow.
- OrangeBlack27

Well, the writers aren't that reliable. And I thought it was more he had the wind knocked out of him. But I certainly hope it's not a *injury that must not be named*

I'm not sold that Luke Schenn will be a franchise defenseman. I like the kid a ton, but I think he's going to be a tweener-capable of being a first pair guy, but more suited to being the second pair shut down guy...kind of like Coburn, but more physical and less mobile.
- Jsaquella

If JvR is out for Luke Schenn, We need a forward in JvR's place. The more we talk about this, the more I somehow want Kadri added in the deal. If Mike Richards can get you Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds, I'm hoping JvR and a high draft pick can get you Kadri as well. That's the only way I could be completely happy with such a deal.

should have noted it was san filippo and baicker. asf is the best we got this side of bill. even though baicker comes off as a 12-year-old on twitter, she doesn't seem to be the type to stir ish up like the other morons.

Unless you trade the Leafs JvR and something significant, you're not going to get Kadri and Schenn-and by significant, I mean Couturier.

Remember, The Leafs supposedly shot down Kulemin and Kadri for Richards or Carter.

I wouldn't be amazed if it ends up as a 1 for 1 deal, unless Burke decides to go hard after Ryan, Getzlaff or Perry(guys he drafted and developed in Anaheim)

He doesn't look great, but he doesn't seem to be groggy or "off"

I thought the Flyers turned down that deal by now calling them back.

That's supposedly what the Flyers asked for, and when Burke didn't get back to them they made the other moves. But, Burke and Homer have been friends for 35 years or so. Burke's son is a Flyers' scout, so you know that had Burke even been willing to seriously discuss that move, Homer would have listened.

EDIT: If it is a 1 for 1 deal, I'd expect Schenn or Couturier to slide up and play a bigger role.

Schenn would be nice but only if you replace JvR.

They'd have the cap room to do something else. I still think that we'd see B Schenn or Couturier playing wing.

I like L. Schenn. He's a hard hitter, he's got decent mobility and some offense to his game. He's young and signed long term at a reasonable hit.

I just dread JvR becoming a 30-35 goal a year guy.

I completely agree with this. Bob looked good tonight ... and last game. But it certainly helps him a bit to play against some of the bottom feeders.
- FlyerGuy

Totally disagree with you guys here. Who regularly beat the Pens when they are playing good, yeah Bob. It really depends on how the team plays and tonight Bob stole one for us and lets give him credit. He starts until he loses because he just won two in row that could easily have been losses. Let's be fair and honest, compare save percentages and that tells the story.

He will. JvR for a Power Forward seems to be more skill then Power.

He is, but if he ever develops a nasty streak...look out.

I think he has a higher ceiling than Luke Schenn. Not a knock on Schenn, just praise for JvR

If you can somehow squeeze in Kadri without hurting the team chemistry, I'm all for JvR for L.Schenn. If not, forget it.

We shall see. If Homer can land both without giving up a ton, it'd be amazing...but Burke's not going to give up both easily.

I still think that JvR is Burke's fallback if he can't get Ryan, getzlaff or Perry, though

Bob is now 10 wins 3 losses and a .921 save percentage,

just for the record the other guy has a .891 save percentage

That means based on a 1000 shots Bryz gives up 30 more goals than Bob, ouch

Do we?

Jagr-Giroux-Hartnell
Talbot-Briere-Voracek
Simmonds-Schenn-Read
Rinaldo-Couturier-Harry Z

Read is now running with the 4th line, so that gives you plenty of flexibility to move a guy like JvR.

We're also one injury away from allowing Shelley to play every night in that scenario.

Agreed, but if they trade JvR for Schenn and waive Shelley, that allows for them to bring in a forward as well.
