Personally, I'd need somebody to overpay to move him. I like Luke Schenn, but I;d need a pick along with him. Really don't want to see JvR traded
- Jsaquella

that's what the leaf fans are saying to move schenn for JVR we would need a pick back

would aulie or gunnarsson plus a first be enough ?

Calgary definately needs to add more firepower. Add Cammalleri can help add to that, plus he can help on the power play. I dont think that deal puts them into the elite class of the West. They may need to make another move or so to play with the big boys.
- stveshdy

They have ZERO cap room after this deal. Going to be interesting. Cammalleri liked playing in Calgary, so he could be really motivated.

I'd hit Leino and Erhoff with a truck, then I'd look at what else had to be done

Reiger spent like a drunken sailor on drek. Pegula should really clean house and start over with a new Coach and GM

I'd need a physical guy that can step in now, and be part of the future. Not sure Gunnarsson's physical enough. Aulie, I haven't seen enough of, know he's highly regarded, though.

Flyers aren't going to trade JvR to get picks back. It's going to have to be for a dman who can step in and make an impact for years to come because JvR was just signed to a new deal.

The cap space can be an issue but they have some players they can move to make space. Will see what happens but this is the first hammer to drop in what can be a very interesting trade deadline.

They can dump salary...if Cammalleri can recapture what he did with Iggy a few years back, they could be dangerous....but it's a small window of opportunity

Gotcha. Well if that is the case, I could definitely see a JvR for Schenn deal go down. Schenn is signed to a nice contract for the next 4 years which is good as well. Both teams would be getting a good young player with great upside in a position of need.

i think Aulie is going to be a good player.... and there has been a lot of schenn getting traded talk and i have been ok with it because we have aulie .... but schenn is a better hitter

Well yeah he had to sign off, but if he's making hockey decisions he might as well make like Jerry Jones and eliminate the GM position.

i Don't watch JVR enough to know what he's like.. but a trade like that could help both teams

I would rather the Flyers keep JVR and use him as a piece to acquire Weber if he becomes available.

The first move to make in Buffalo is to get rid of Ruff.
- PLindbergh31

You'd have to think his Teflon will wear off at some point.

I can't stand Ruff. He was a cheap shot douche as a player, and I've never liked him as a coach. Although I have to begrudgingly admit that he's gotten a lot out of a Buffalo roster that was never really loaded with talent.

Might be time for a new voice in the room though. Happens to every coach at some point.

He has great upside if his consistency comes around. He was absolutely dominant in the post season last year. This year, battling an injury apparently but something about him just has me real down on him and I view him as the piece to move to upgrade the back end.

I guess the new trade deadline is a month before the actual one? Do GMs do this to avoid having to pay a premium for a player or was the Cammy thing cause he ran his mouth?
