That's what I was saying earlier, the price to acquire a young puck moving dman is staggering.

I think you need to build the Defense through the draft and make some smart UFA signings like an Ian White type and so on.

Agreed. The flyers nees to draft and produce dmen to their likings.

Although i dont see matt carle being here next year... Mostly wishful thinking on my part im sure

If the Flyers got him cheap at the deadline I'd be thrilled, he's a very good 3rd pairing Dman with Cup experience.

Thats my new guy.. I pitched it this morning and Im stickin with him.

OT: Check out this gem from Garf:

"Kaleta was issued a charging penalty in the third period of the Sabres 2-0 loss to the Leafs on Tuesday night. Kaleta identified that Leafs forward, Grabovski, had control of the puck and was positioned on the end wall looking to make a play. Kaleta being Kaleta, put the gas pedal to the floor, and sped directly at Grabovskin. At the moment of impact, Kulemin flew into the glass. The ref's hand immediately pointed to the heavens. Kaleta was issues a two minute charge. Lindy Ruff calls it "hard hockey". Kaleta has been playing this way since his days in the OHL. Its the only brand of hockey that he knows how to play."

yet if a player hit a Sabres player like that Ruff would go off and they'd be calling the hockey Gods to seek punishment.

Matt Carle is really the one player who could be traded at the deadline if the Flyers feel like he wont be back. The only issue is dealing Carle would leave this team with a bigger hole to fill. I dont know if they would even consider it unless they are dropping in the standings. Hopefully they would get back another defenseman if they went that route.
