I've seen them do it for basketball and baseball I know. Not sure if I've seen it for football, but they probably have. It's all about ratings, as has been said.

Didn't a bunch of the NY Jets players just "anonymously" throw their own QB under the bus...it happens in football and we'd be naive to think it doesn't happen in hockey too. It certainly doesn't excuse it and I think we all want to believe that hockey players are better than that.

The NHLPA needs to take the lead on this and come out with a strong message to it's own membership that this sort of backstabbing will not be tolerated.

Looked at lists. Saw that they said Giroux and Datsyuk were underrated.

Laughed and stopped reading.

Almost everyone I know says Datsyuk is one of the most skilled players, with the best hands in the NHL. EVERYONE thinks that. How can be be underrated when he's getting nothing but praise from everyone who sees one of his many highlights?

Not sure what the big deal is. We, as fans put out our opinion ALL THE TIME.

Do SI need to worry about an article like that? I would say absolutely. I think this article lacks creativity & professionalism & shows no expertise on the topic being written about. Hardly a magazine I would ever ever subscribe & pay to have delivered & read. Maybe if they were to analyze real hockey statistics and come to conclusions based on value of salary versus performance measures like time on ice, possession ratios, scoring chances, +-, you know real things that matter & then compose their overrated or over paid lists instead of high school gossip & jealousy, their magazine might be worth reading.
