You said a few days ago how PAP put up numbers because he was on JT's line... well he is off it now & he is still putting up numbers...but still cant get any respect. Yet you also like to talk about the ball of talent that is Josh Bailey who hasnt even come close to showing the talent that PAP has. What gives?

true he is still putting up numbers....i just think it comes down to opportunity cost again. i think someone like nino on the same exact line with the same line mates would have more production, both his own stats and making his line mates better, than pa parenteau currently gets.

as for bailey, he clearly isnt playing well, granted not exactly playing with top talent but having said that, aside from his pure natural talent, which he has shown off for stretches this season, he is 22 years old. to trade or waive him now would be selling low. that is why i push for them to hold onto the guy. i think he has plenty of upside but just like in the case of comeau, you cant get nothing for assets

exactly how many guys can be the last guy to complain about?....every time someone is mentioned in some sort of negative way, youre always there to say he is the "last guy to gripe about".

wasnt okposo just the last guy someone shouldnt be complaining about?

- LetsGoIsles

Are you kidding? Are you confusing me with someone else? Who else has been "the last guy" according to me? And BTW, you don't need to take things so literally. "The last guy to gripe about" is a figure of speech meaning that there are many more issues with the Isles to complain about before complaining about PAP, a guy who's actually meeting and exceeding expectations, as opposed to about 10 other guys on the roster.

I did see the numbers and I like I said Wait until we get closer to the All Star breakand we can compare the numbers. Truth be told PAP makes any line better right now putting up points. Okposo does not
- kasperrko

how is that the truth???... the numbers dont lie....KO is getting better and JT/Moulson have been MUCH better with him on the line....how does he not make the top line better?

Seriously you thought they were goingto get something for Comeau?? Seriously? one good year and you thought he would get a return like?????

- kasperrko

yes i did....exactly the reason why he was waived was why i wanted him gone but the people who liked the guy, had a legit argument that he did put up 30 goals on the third line....i GUARANTEE garth could have gotten (if nothing else) a pick out of him. no question

Well, I don't know about who makes their line better, but I can say that Rolston has made Nielsen and PA look virtually invisible. I hope Ullstrom gets put on that line when he's ready to come back. His board work would greatly help PA and Nielsen do their thing, I think.

like i said "complaining about rolston or pandalfo would be like saying "cancer sucks"...of course cancer sucks, no need to say it, everyone knows it."

its a broken record-- i like talking about things that can actually be discussed and make people think.

saying rolston, dipietro, pandalfo sucks is a mind numbing-broken record-id rather watch paint dry conversation

That is the point he is getting better because of JT and Moulson. You move PAP on the second and he is still putting up numbers. A big difference there

Well if we do the math he scored 24 goals last year which was closer to 20 but I get your point. I thought Snow was going to trade him to be honest during the off season but no one was biting. Flames were desperate for scoring if the Flames were playing better at that point Comeau right now might be playing in the AHL

One win is not going to make me stop the Venom. What are you talking about Dee?? It is one win that is all. Once this team wins like 5 or 6 in a row then the Venom will stop. One win does not change all the rpoblems this team still has. It is games like this that make Wang and Snow and sit there and say see I told you so we dont need to do anything we can beat anyone.

On a side note another reason why JAck should not be coaching in the NHL. Who the hell takes a time out with 20 seconds left up 5 - 1? If I was Babcock I would have went after JAck and gave him a beat down. That is so Bush League in my book and you want to know why we dont get respected. Look at our clueless coach.

See Dee still plenty of Venom and more to come after Philly comes in here and beats us yet once again, and I guarentee you Nabby is in net as well

I will say it until they are no longer logging minutes for this team. I will say it less when folks like Rolston are at least put in very limited roles.

This off season a package of Bailey and possibly Nino should be put together for a solid Dman. The Bailey tryout is done. He is not a good second line center and we have enough third line centers. Next we have to resign Frans Nielson and send cizikas up to a fourth line role. We also have to resign PA. Who is the most underated player on the team, and also the second best passer on the team. After all this, You do everything and anything to sign Parise. Calll his father to persuade the kid and offer crazy money it doesn't matter.

What on Earth does that have to do with what we're discussing, that PA Parenteau is a legit 3rd line NHLer? What you just wrote has absolutely nothing to do with that issue that makes people think that we were discussing a page ago. It seems to be you're back-tracking a bit now.

PA is kind of unfortunate at the moment that he's a set up guy, playing with a set up defensive center and a slug.

If we had nino on the second line wing with them, I think it would give us a better line

Nino may not be getting any points, but he's rarely getting any opportunities either. Kind of difficult to make anything happen when your linemates (pandolfo and wallace) can't do anything other than dump and slowly chase.

- Isles_since_6

If you watch niño on his shifts you will see why he isn't getting more ice tie. He is lost in his own zone. He doesn't know who to pick up and stands still whle d men pinch in and get chances. He would be exposed more with more ice time. He should be in Portland working on it.

let's not go crazy here - PA is still putting up points, on the powerplay. With JT. and Moulson.

half the team looks like that in their own end. When an opposing team starts to cycle it looks like the isles haven't been coached to defend it and they get lost or leave people wide open. It's hardly just a problem with Nino.
he also can't go to portland. It was either here or back to juniors. If he's here, he should be playing at least on the top three lines, otherwise why waste a year of his development playing with plugs? I'm sure it's not making him more confident or allowing him to be creative with the puck by playing 8 minutes a game with a couple of statues.

Interesting enough, the ONLY FA I wanted to sign this year (fully assuming we wouldn't be near the team we are) was Zenon Konopka. True story. I followed him in the pro's because (as my avatar suggests) I'm a Ottawa 67's fan. Konopka was the heart and soul of our team during his time here in the OHL. Captain.

He was that guy who would do anything for his team mates, still is. The fighting Konopka is essentially what he did to make it. he would fight in junior, sure, but he wasn't the league leader or anything close like he is in the NHL. He was just a hard nosed, in your face player.

When he signed here, and I actually got my wish (I'm leaning towards Zach Parise as this year's player ) I knew he'd bring the edge. He plays small minutes, but he's effective, he's done what he was brought in to do in regards to adding toughness, adding a faceoff master (and he's helped our other centers in that regard as well, similar to the way Dan Tessier helped him learn the craft as a youngster with the 67s) and adding character. I think having a guy like him on th eroster is just a good thing. he plays tough, he can play the game and he doesn't take dumb penalties others of his ilk do.

You won't hear me say a bad word about him. Kids I watched leave everything on the ice as kids in junior... they're the ones I always appreciate the most when they make it. They earned it with the work, and he's no different.

- Lohaus

Thats great to hear. As everyone here knows I'm a big ZK fan and was just beside myself when we didnt sign him. IMO he's been a tremendous lose to the Islanders. He brought more to the Isles then anyone though. I happy he's helping the Sens though. Good luck. I'll be watching. And Rooting, as long as its not against us.

Good for you that you got your player.
