Renberg was pretty good also as a Rookie.

I think your underestimating the value of a top pair physical shut down defender that L Schenn has the potential to become. He is not a one dimensional player. I don't know if I'd be willing to trade B Schenn or JVR for him, as it's not a guarantee that L Schenn gets there.
- MJL

i think that burke would want a center to move schenn because it would really round out his roster, but i know he likes jvr as well.

maybe L schenn becomes scott stevens-lite, but i wouldn't be surprised if he has coburn like O numbers.

Schenn isn't likely to be a big point producer or a PP defenseman. But he could be a top defensive defenseman while putting up 25-30 points a year.

Carle seems like the type of guy to take a hometown discount to stay, considering in the beginning of his career he moved around quite a bit.
- KGBflyers10

I'd love to find out you're right, but I wouldn't plan on a hometown discount. Not for any player.

He has Shattered Connolly, Grabovski, Bozak & Lombardi, he may have shot his load at centers, (Bozak was playing well B4 he got hurt)

- Flyskippy

The signed Bryzgalov for 9 years. I think the Flyers realize they aren't a Cup team this year. They know they're a team of the future. I hope they don't go into win now mode at the deadline.
- MJL

I think the Flyers have a good a shot as any to win a Cup, just for the record.

If they make the playoffs, anything can happen. But I wouldn't label them a favorite.

agreed on the 2 being glass, I think Grabo is underrated, he produces & cap friendly at that, but Burke would want a Phaneuf type at center if possible

I just would set this team short. This isn't the team we're going into the playoffs with. One move could change everything.

It would have to be a pretty big move to make them a favorite.

I think they make the playoffs. When they run out of gas or when the rookies hit the wall is what makes me think they don't go farther than the second round.

My $.02 and my head talking. My heart thinks they win the Cup, defeating Pittsburgh, Boston, New York (Rangers, as if I need to differentiate), and Detroit en route.

When he signed Connolly 2 years $9 million, I thought he went nuts

Really hoping G and the boys get out of their slump. It seems like they were pushing it way too hard last night. They gotta ease up a bit and not force things. Jagr looks hurt still.

Shortly after, the Philadelphia area experiences torrential money rain systems for a week or so

Might as well jump off a bridge after the parade. Life will never get any sweeter then that.

Not necessarily. Even the favorites to win the Stanley Cup over the years haven't. Heck, it could take an injury to a key piece to another team and suddenly we're in the running again.

The favorites to win the Stanley Cup in years past, were better teams then the Flyers are now. Again, anything can happen in the playoffs. But I don't view the Flyers as a Cup favorite.
