I'm unaware of how physical Franzen is. I'd like to know.

I dunno if this helps, but it's cool.

Cammalleri's comments aren't that much different from Knuble's in Washington earlier this year. Knuble is still in DC.
- Flyskippy

Washington isn't Montreal. They have politicians introducing resolutions because the interim (frank)ing coach can't parlez (frank)ing French

True. Also Knuble > Cammalleri in terms of coolness.

Cody Franson

ASSETS: Displays excellent offensive instincts. Has a laser shot from the point and is adept at running the power play, moving the puck well. Has excellent size for the defense position.
FLAWS: Needs to continue working on his defensive-zone coverage. Can at times look sluggish as a skater. Must also use his massive frame more to his advantage.
CAREER POTENTIAL: Offensive defenseman with size.

Pass. We need Physical. I think if the Flyers really needed more offense from t defense, they could add Meszaros to the PP at anytime. In fact, Meszaros has done a fantastic job at collecting points without much PP time.
- Schenn2shine

if mez was that effective on the pp, we'd see it by now, but we haven't. either can't get the shot thru or on net often enuf. flyers have little for other teams to fear from the point and special teams are too important to just blow it off.

if it were up to me, I'd make a play for subban -and I know I'm in the distinct minority here- who brings pretty much everything...but the cost would be

What's L. Schenn's deal this year? Is he turning into a bust? Is he actually avaliable?

I wouldn't go outside of the names I listed earlier. I brought up Suter but Suter isn't really apart of my list. I agree that he's a guy we should try and sign for nothing, not trade for.

It's far too early to say he's a bust. He's struggled, but he's still a talented kid. The cost would like be prohibitive for me.

I disagree with your opinion of Meszaros. He leads the defense goals and I really don't see how he could do much worse then JvR at the point. I love Peter Laviolette and am very proud to have him as our head coach but it doesn't mean I agree with all his decisions. In my opinion Meszaros deserves PP time over JvR and would more then likely do a better job.

I would take on another Schenn for the same reason why I would take on 2 Staals. For the ironic Brotherly Love Theme.

No, he's got enough skill to be a top 4, but he's big and not physical.

I like Mez, I don't think they use him enough on the PP to see what he can do on a consistent basis, (with Timonen, Carle, & some forwards taking PP shifts at the point)

Subban is a nice point man, but a head case

scouting reports of D zone coverage & sluggish skating could be the reason he couldn't catch on yet with Nashville or Toronto, I would think Nashville gave up too soon on him, especially with impending free agents back there

He's got the skill, really hasn't put it all together yet...I'd prefer him to Lilja or even Bourdon, just for the shot.

In my opinion we need Physical. I'd be willing to take Cody Franson if the Leafs are willing to take our crap in return, like Lilja. Not to say Franson or Lilja are both crap but we're sour on Lilja right now and I've heard nothing but negative things from Leaf land about Franson since Training Camp. The kid couldn't crack the roster for a whole.
