Well Jay-Bo and Joke-I-nen are on there so it must be fairly accurate then.

I don't think Ryan Kestler is overrated to be honest. If that guy scored 20 this season and still managed to shutdown players, that's still a successful season for him. To me scoring 40 last season is what gave him such high expectations all of a sudden. In my opinion that forgot Vanek.

Scott Gomez is there, too. Who is overrating him?
- Jsaquella

161 players is not the largest sample size, but still, it's gotta sting a little bit seeing your name on that list. Especially if you're a goalie that just went to the Cup final.

Good call. I thought the same thing with Kesler but Vanek is just over paid (he is still very skilled). What about Penner?

There seems to be this hate on for the Canucks these days. Honestly I don't see where it comes from. Sure they have a few yappers in Burrows, Lapierre and Kesler but they are not really that tough or weaselly of a team imo. The finger biting thing from last playoffs can't really be the crux of it can it? Just seems weird to me.

I love the comment about Gomez. No one is over ratting the guy. Even he knows he is terribly overpaid and under performing. As much as I am happy to see the Habs failing I would rather it be the NYR. I think that guy is a part (not all) of the problem. Wish he was never traded from NY.

Bob Gainey. The only guy that could hurt the Habs more is the guy that replaced him.

Personally I do believe Luongo is very overrated and even after winning a Cup, Tim Thomas is still underrated. I'm telling you right now, when Boston and the Flyers won their first rounds and had to face each other, I told a buddy before Game 1 began that the winner of this series would win the Stanly Cup. In my mind, if you don't have the skill sets that the Detroit Red Wings have, you better be a physically tough team to contend. The Bruins had just that.

Personally I was for getting a journeyman goalie who could be trusted and play 30 games and give Bob the chance to grow into the job.
With all the other young guys why not.

I hate Bryz's contract.

In saying that he's here so I am rooting for him to be wildly successful.

Bob isn't going to hang around for 9 years as a backup.

As soon as we have a viable alternative Bob should get traded.
Unless of course Homer can trade Bryz. Not that I am advocating that.

Really, after the flyers limped out of BUF you thought they were in it to win it? I wasn't as optimistic.

I'd hardly say they limped out of Buffalo. Ryan Miller stole two games. If the Flyers got competent goaltending, they win that series in 5

I agree with all of that, but I'm talking about the "hate" thing. There seems to be this "hate the Canucks" thing around the league right now. Puzzling to me.

When we beat Buffalo I thought Pronger was healthy and back and that we were going to contend.

I'm Canadian, so if the Flyers don't win, I'm hoping a Canadian team can win it all. However, I was never a believer in the Canucks. I didn't get that same Cinderella story feel as the Oilers, Flames and Senators had going in the runs that they had. I respect the Bruins toughness and envy what they have going now and what they had going in the playoffs. The Canucks to me were cocky and weren't tough enough, so I had a lot of mixed emotions right to the bigger end. I didn't feel any sort of heart shattering pride the Canucks lost. I actually wasn't surprised they lost either.

Game 7 went the way some elimination Flyer games have gone in the past. Anti-climatic/letdown. Luongo pooping the bed in all the games in Boston and the team only going 2-35 on the PP was the difference in the series imo. Boston's toughness (maybe overly so) should have actually cost them the series.

NHL poll. Most overrated NHLers, voted on by players.

Pronger's at 11th.

Mike Komisarek is 10th. Who the (frank) is overrating Komisarek? JFJ?

- Jsaquella

Some of the players on that list are ridiculous. But I guess the players have a different opinion.

Imagine the coverage and true insight we could get from Bill if he was able to devote to covering the team full time.
- MJL

He, too, would be corrupted by the power and start making himself as important as the players and game he's covering. "Getting Meltzed" would become a catch-phrase in Philadelphia akin to what is now termed, "You've been Seravalli'd." It's obvious that it's the team and not the writers...

Or not.

I knew it was over when the Bruins beat the Habs in OT of Game 7.
