I really don't get the goaltending "controversy".

Last night they gave their back up goalie a start against one of the weaker teams.
Weaker just based on their record, fwiw I think Carolina plays the Flyers very tough and it was a very even game last night.

Perfect spot for Bob to go in.

Bryz should get the starts in the majority of games down the stretch, and especially against the top teams.

I'm excited that Gusty was recalled to the Flyers, look forward to seeing him in there soon.

- Marc D

Bryzgalov should definitely get the majority of the starts moving forward. However, if his struggles continue as the season winds down, I have no qualms handing the reins to Bobrovsky. Just win, baby. Contracts be damned.

gotta take the good with the bad... if you want that nasty d-man.. you have to expect penalties..
- jak521

Nasty is OK, but Homer has been quoted saying that puck moving D guys who can skate, get back and retrieve pucks and make a play, are the key in the 'new' NHL.

I really wonder what will happen with Carle getting re-signed.

He doesn't get much love here but he has become a pretty important player for them.

I like LA and Franzke, too. Good chemistry in the booth. JJ is solid at baseball. He;s actually good at hockey when it's not the Flyers. No whining about "They're gonna call that_____!!" or "Ill Humor".

That said, Jackson is nowhere near the worst guy in the NHL at his job. When he's not whining, he's fine.

- Jsaquella

It's the juvenile comments he makes to and about "Coatsey" during the broadcast that annoys me.

I swear, he's funnier than the comedy channel. He gets all worked up and curses on the air and doesn't even notice...then they get his brother on and there's two of them.
- Jsaquella

Like Matthieu and Lemon. The Odd Couple Movie, is one of my all-time favorites. Classic flick.

I liked Esposito doing the Rangers games with Jim Gordon. Gordon still has my favorite radio call, the Scott Norwood missed FG.

No question. At least with Edwards, Andy Brickley is tolerable.
- PLindbergh31

Brick does a good job with other PxP guys, too. Edwards isn't bad when he does non-Bruins games.

No doubt Lavi will go with the guy who gives them the best shot to win.

I just think when it is crunch time in the Spring, that guy will be Bryz.

ya i agree about jvr dude seems like he's made of Schenn
- Crimsoninja

That's funny and maybe true but we also get Franson in the deal. Luke is a pretty tough customer and truth is as talented as JVR is he is streaky, does not throw punishing checks and always seems injured or playing not 100%. Schenn and Franson for JVR is a done deal in my books and in no way is that blowing up the team. We have ample forwards and could use help on defence so this deal makes sense if we could only get BB to agree.

What are your feelings regarding the Canucks goaltending controversy?

Also looking forward to seeing what Gustafsson will bring.

- rockychocbill

Canucks I think are screwed with Luongo.
Schneider looks like an A1 starter to me.

I really hope you are right. Bryzgalov seemed to be tracking the puck much better over the weekend; hopefully a sign of things to come.

I liked that call, too...My first "big" football bet.

I got the Giants and 4 points, had $300 on the game. The guy I was betting was dancing when they lined up for the kick, and then I explained to him that he better hope it gets blocked and run in for a TD, because otherwise, I would win just as the kick sailed wide.

$300 is a huge bet 20 years ago. I had a calm feeling all along, I knew Norwood would miss that kick. When they showed his face seconds before the kick, you could see the utter terror on his face.

I wonder if Steiggy and Errey have been broadcasting standing on stools with ropes around their necks the last two weeks.

The whining must be epic.

They may have a Price/Halak decision in their future. Crazy to think that the goalie that got them to the finals might be on the bubble after this season but it could happen. If it doesn't go well these playoffs he might be sent to a cap friendly team.

Someone the other day made the point that the Flyers D when they play in front of Bryz have to make an effort to let him see the shot, and not get in the way screening him and trying to block shots.

He is still adapting to the new team and D play in front of him.

I really hope he strings a good 2nd half together because if Bryz gets back in his top form and with the offense they have they could have a very nice playoff run.

The same Kyle Turris who has 8 points in his first 11 games with the Sens?

I am starting to get more Flyers broadcasts on Center Ice (thankfully), but JJ is annoying with his, "and no penalty called there" comments all the time.

Really? Cool. I am getting comped by one of our suppliers for that game. It was originally supposed to be the Sens game last month. Let me know if you find tix or need help finding some. I have a broker I deal with.

JVR is good player and can be dominating but on most nights he is just invisible...I wish he played like he did against boston all the time....As far as trading for L Schenn it would make sense. Guys like JVR dont grow on trees, but neither do guys like L Schenn...You have to give up something to get something.
