“From a player standpoint, you always want to look at how the team is built for the future and what the future looks like, if you’re going to be a competitive team.,” he said “That’s the most important thing. I think that’s No. 1 on my list – a team that’s going to have a chance year in and year out and looks in the future like they’re going to have a great chance to consistently make the playoffs and have a chance at the Stanley Cup.”
Just to clarify, I asked Parise if he believes the Devils fit that description?
“I definitely do,” he said. “I was just saying what a player is looking for.”
Further disproving post. Unless you believe Ek more than Parise. |

I dont know honestly i would love Toronto to get Parise, he could easily player center for us as he started his career as a center, if we could get him as a free agent that would be best case scenario because i dont want to give up Schenn. But in reality i think Burke will go for a center with a lot of size and skil, probably a Getzlaf type or Getzlaf himself, but i would be suprised if its Parise. Minnesota will be a force if they get Parise, Micheal Granlund and Charlie Coyle are both sick prospects all they need is one good d man. They have solid depth at forward and goaltending, they have 8 mil in cap space and could easily be a contender with Parise, but with there current team would be a contender for the cup for like 4 years, where as T.O would be a contender right away if we signed Parise as a UFA.
Also you guys are already throwing Reimer under the bus, relax he will go back to the way he was and find his consistency eventually. |

I don't think Iggy will be traded...He still thinks the Flames will be a playoff team... - Flyfreaky
Personally I dont mind if Iggy stays. After next year he will take a home town discount. Hopefully we can use the cap space to round up some decent UFA's and win him a cup in Calgary. After seeing him score his 500th last weekend it really showed me that there is more to the move than just a pure business decision. Trading him won't make or break the franchise. Flame for Life! |

That's not what he said. He basically said he want's to get paid and knows he won't get it because of the money tied in Kovalchuk. They asked if he wanted out and he said most definitely. I wouldn't lie about that, it's the truth. - weirdoh
....and later on in the same interview...he said " if I had control of the trade destination I would definitely want to play for the Leafs!"

I do, I'm not arguing, Your nut hugging your team and I'm pointing out that your goalie is a good reason why your D is doing so well. Its also a good reason why Torontos is so bad, cant be considered a good defender when your goalie lets in goals left and right, it goes both ways. - Jay Uller
Ineed, ill take your word for it. you have seen way more rangers games than me. |

Why would the Oil be in the mix for him? Is Tambo a genius who can see that the future NHL will be overrun with little skill guys who don't hit? |

@HockeyBreak is reporting the Canucks have spoken to the Flames about Iginla. Has anyone heard of this @HockeyBreak character before? How does their credibility compare to Ek's?
Seriously thought WTF? How would that conversation go? |

While I agree that Parise centering Kessel & Lupol would be dazzling, Leafs need a BIG center for that kine. Kessel is smallish, Lupol is smallish. Burke always says that the Leafs are too smallish up front, Parise wouldn't solve that problem. I think Getzlaf would be the answer. |
