No chance. Their defense and goaltending is overrated. Big time. Nice group of forwards if they did but they'd have to give up a lot to get him and I dont think they have what it takes to get him. Other teams have better packages and he isn't signing there in the offseason.

I got roasted in NJ boards for suggesting Parise's days were likely numbered there. Lou would never have given the "C" to him without a deal in place, they already have a deal worked out, Zach wants to stay blah blah blah

I was hoping for Vancouver since Schneider, Raymond, Ballard(the cash even up) etc seemed to fit but since we got Booth and Salo going down I'm guessing we'll be going for a defenseman and I think L.A. seems the more fitting destination.

L.A. has Bernier, Johnson, lots of young talent. Fills all the things NJ needs.
Not to say Parise still won't sign but every day it doesn't happen makes it more exciting.

They have what it takes to get him...but it's a matter of whether it's worth losing that many pieces. Getting Parise is great but not if you end up taking a step back to get him.

May as well just try and sign him as a UFA.

Pittsburgh could fit him in and who wouldn't want to play with Crosby or Malkin. Vancouver has 10 million in cap space with, already, top 9 forwards and top 5 defenseman signed. Also Ballard and Alberts could easily be moved 6 million off the books there. But at this point I'd rather the Canucks go hard after Suter. I bet he'd wanna stay in the states though.

He is a UFA at season's end and does not have any say in where he plays until then, so it's really about who is the highest bidder up to the deadline, after that NJ could probably get a third round pick, or maybe even a second at the draft for the rights to negotiate if they don't think he will resign there.

So Leaf fans do. And since when does a fan base count as rating their team? When writers start saying how great Reimer is and that Gustavsson is a great back up. Then you can say they are overrated.
