Any chance of Nashville getting in on Parise? They'd have to move some cap space again...like they did with Arnott. They also have to sign Suter, Weber, Tootoo, a bunch of RFA players, etc. He would be the go to guy though. If they could unload Erat plus a potentially juicy prospect, that might get it done.

Great, but Getz and Ryan won't be.
- ShootingSemin

If getz goes anywhere iam sure they get a center of decent calibre plus for him,no team trade,s a top line center for picks and prospects.Unless you have a decnt one waiting in the wing,s like philly with CJ

Hypothetical situation of the year, what if Burke somehow trades for getz and then pursues Parise in the offseason? Would we just put a crown of thorns on Burkes head? I guess its possible (although Jersey would be retarded to just let him walk, but what if lou does and then steps down as gm?)

That Vokoun deal isn't really looking all that great so far even considering the paltry salary.
- 1979AD

I don't think Vokoun can be falted too hard for Washingtons epic collapse.. Watching the caps slowly melt down was like witnessing a slow speed car accident

So then the leafs would have Getzlaf and Parise ,but what else would they have on their team after that ahler,s???Any trade to aquire one of these players would require the leafs to dump the nice collection of depth they have accumilated. They would be a one line team really those never work

Or it could be the goalie that's top 5 in both categories (or damn close) that is making it seem a lot better.

biron. 8-2-0 SV% .922 GAA 2.06 SO 1
or you could actually watch the games and not base it on stats. henrik has been great, but so has the defense. they block a shyt load of shots too

give me a second and I will show you how little their cap would affect the Leafs (remember I said Parise as a ufa not a trade, we move cap to get Getz.)

Pretty much,if getlaf was moved it will be for another comparable center. And if where to guess the team that would make the most sense it would be WASH for backstrom. These two teams need a major shakeup but not at the expense of moving out a key componet such as a top line center without recieving one back in return

Yes, the defense has nothing to do with that.

the easiest is waiving/trading for considerations Lombo and Armstrong, that cuts 6 mill out with two guys that have done little for the Leafs, I cant see Parise signing for over 7. If Kadri, Grabbo, schenn is moved for Getz it leaves us with a hair under 2 million this season, move lombo army as I said and little was sacrificed to shore up an admirable top line.

NJ wants something for him if they cant sign him ,and i dont care about how much cap space you can move. What do you think ANA would want off the leafs roster that resembles a top line center or enough pieces that make ana ok with giving the leafs their,s

the defense doesn't have to for the goalies numbers to stay up. Birons numbers were far better than that at the beginning of the season.. says that ur defense is trending downwards. if the goalies numbers are completely due to what the defense is doing like u say anyways.

well three young roster guys that can make an immediate impact plus a prospect/pick seems like a suiting deal for 1 player... everyone here seems to think its going to take 3 top 6 players plus to get a guy thats never put up 100 points.

I'm not saying Getz isn't a great player, but a 25 goal ceiling isn't exactly elite territory.

Could people on here please quit referring to themselve and their favorite team as "we". "You" are not doing anything.

I like the Flames. "We" do not suck, "they" suck. That is all!

except funding the team...

if it wasn't for "we" these teams wouldn't exist... meaning "we" are a part of the team in some capacity no? ...

shouldn't the numbers be far worse if they played in front of a poor defense? especially the backups? how about you actually watch the games instead of looking at stats on nhl.com
Edit: they were far better at the beginning cause he had a shutout in his second or third start.
