Only a p***y player would consider it garbage...a real player would embrace the attention and want to succeed.
If he considered it "garbage" then the Leafs don't need him.
But I know you didn't mean it as literal as that. But I don't think it'd take him much time to catch on to Wilson's pathetic system. Then again, I'm still crossing my fingers that Wilson is not the coach next season, in which case everyone is learning a new system. - Juice
if Wilson isn't the coach, then we missed the playoffs yet again |

You need to relax with the Wilson hate. This is a young team and there are a lot of movings pieces here for a coach to deal with (new players, players up and down), the team is doing well. - B-Leaf
It's the PK that's been driving me nuts for 4 years...he's coached two completely different teams (1st year vs today's team) to TERRIBLE PK. To me, that's a problem.
You need to relax on telling me to relax!!! |

*Cough*Penalty shot in the last 20 seconds to tie the game missed *Cough* - Kovaltron
It goes back to his earliest days. He just never seems to shine when we're at our lowest point. Even Kovy, whom I generally dislike has that ability. Last year when NJ was down and out, that joker went on an unworldly tear and nearly pulled off the impossible. Zach just doesn't have that trait. |

To be fair, all of our key players disappear in the playoffs since 2003. It is sickening the way they play in big games. |

You're not the least bit concerned about your goaltending? Reimer is average ...he can get you into the playoffs probably but it's going to be a short ride - keatondixon
Not overly concerned, not bursting with confidence either though...5 on 5, Reimer's sv% is something ridiculous like .941 (saw this stat the other day, might have actually been higher) but on the PK he's something terrible like .720.
I don't think either goalie is fantastic...but what are they going to do that isn't going to cost them the farm to fix? Harding would be a nice trade...but a Schneider or Bernier will cost way too much. |

They're not going to accomplish anything in the playoffs this year anyway. |

All of our players aren't looking for 7+ million a year. Big money means big responsibility. Same reason why i give Kovy so much crap. |

Elias is making close to that and he has been nonexistent in the playoffs as well. Marty has been terrible also. |

There is no denying the whole team has been junk in the post season since 2003, but we're locked in with kovy for years, and we need to be sure before punching our next big ticket. I have reservations about Parise. |

I think a lot of that had to do with some inflated ego's. Same reason we were so great at ruining a coach in one year. If you look at our team now who was on it pre-lockout? Marty and Elias are the only ones that are left. Now to Wayne who thinks Parise is incapable of putting the team on the back or showing up in big games, Parise has played in 2 playoff series since he's been "elite". The series against the canes he put up 6 points in 7 games, and Cam Ward was amazing. He did all he could for us then. Philly was an embarrassment all around. Half the players looked like they rather would have lost than win. No one was carrying the team out of that train wreck. Maybe he can't carry the team, but as of now he's the best leader we have, can still get 70 points, and is currently part of (arguably) the best PK duo in the league. Even if he's not putting the team on his back he can still be usefulĀ |

I have reservations as well and think if we can get him for a similar, legal version, of Kovy's contract, that would be great. It all depends on what we are going to do in goal. I have a feeling Marty is done after this year and Moose is not far off. We are going to have a gaping hole in net. I suppose we could sign Vokoun as a stopgap until one of the 3 youngsters (Wedgewood, Clermont, Kinkaid) can take the job.

I don't think anybody has the potential to get a deal done better than Minnesota. They have great young prospects throughout their system. They have good control over their salary situation. They can probably give Heatlry away for nothing to any team that might take him.
My guess is that Minnesota is the team that can make the offer and, at the same time, make Parise the go to guy he wants to be. - spatso
Totally agree...a lot of people are saying that Minnesota isn't a contender...that's ridiculous! they have a great team...just need a few pieces. That plus they have the money / package to work something out no prob! |

That is all i want. He doesn't get a penny more than Ilya. If he wants 7+ we would be crazy to entertain that notion. He isn't a game breaker, it's not what he does. |
