Solid logic yes ....the Leafs were at the top of the conference at the beginning of the season correct? They have now slid down to 7th at the half way point...they will continue to be hot and cold all season especially with an AHL goaltender between the pipes. Washington will be there at the end and probably will pass you guys which leaves you with the last spot to fight over at the end with the other dwellers in the East.
- keatondixon

Right....so then they add Parise and they don't progress at all?

one of the games last week they threw up a stat and were discussing that 6-7 more wins were "probable" with a PK that was 10% better (ie top 15 in the league)
- Big_Lightnin

That's a horrible argument man. That is like saying if they took 1 less penalty a game they would be in first. Or if they scored 10% more goals they would be in first....it doesn't work like that. Each game is it's own entity.

He wants more playing time? He is on the first line and plays in all situations... Maybe if he had the conditioning to play 30 minutes a game he would.

hurr durr maybe you should have actually read the article, Ek.

Take em. Just make sure you help us to stock our coffers before you go. Parise is a 6.5 million dollar player in my mind and anything more is just based on hype. If the guy wants more than that, his first order of business should be to start outscoring David Clarkson.
- WayneZ

I don't really want him....I like him, just not top of my list.

I want Harding, Clutterbuck & Getzlaf.

Reiner, Grabo, Schenn, MacArthur, and a prospect or pick can go to get it done. (Or if anyone will take Lombardi or Armstrong I would be happy to shed their salaries)(or take Kmi instead of Schenn).

So he goes to NYR?.....TOR would improve more than most teams would by adding him because they would lose the least from their active roster to do it.

TOR has owned NYR this year....

- B-Leaf

and we owned boston and the nucks last year?

Im not gonna bash him, i still love the guy. However, when we have big measuring stick games, i.e. in Boston the other night, he is habitually a no show. It's one of those dirty little secrets all devil's fans know but they don't like to admit it publically.
- WayneZ

Could it be that you team relies too much on him and Kovi?

So, your logic is that Toronto has been sliding. Call me crazy, but hasn't Washington actually slid even further since the beginning of the season? Isn't Florida sliding pretty quickly right now..... Faster than Toronto?

A rocket scientist you are not.

- prock

Washington has slid majorly but that team just has a problem getting it going....Toronto is what it is ...a team that won't climb or really fall far...they will get the last playoff spot or just miss barely ..even with Parise, it will take time to adjust to a new team and system

If Toronto finds a way to improve their PK, it changes everything for that team.

With a slightly better PK, 8th place isn't even in the conversation.

Unfortunately though...a terrible PK is their reality.

I think most players would love to play in Toronto if he team was winning. It's been a while though....

Only a p***y player would consider it garbage...a real player would embrace the attention and want to succeed.

If he considered it "garbage" then the Leafs don't need him.

But I know you didn't mean it as literal as that. But I don't think it'd take him much time to catch on to Wilson's pathetic system. Then again, I'm still crossing my fingers that Wilson is not the coach next season, in which case everyone is learning a new system.

Getzlaf would help our pk by putting Bozak in a third line role he could excel at, add Clutterbuck (tops in the league in shorties) and Harding on the backend....I like our chances

You need to relax with the Wilson hate. This is a young team and there are a lot of movings pieces here for a coach to deal with (new players, players up and down), the team is doing well.

You're not the least bit concerned about your goaltending? Reimer is average ...he can get you into the playoffs probably but it's going to be a short ride

I don't think anybody has the potential to get a deal done better than Minnesota. They have great young prospects throughout their system. They have good control over their salary situation. They can probably give Heatlry away for nothing to any team that might take him.

My guess is that Minnesota is the team that can make the offer and, at the same time, make Parise the go to guy he wants to be.

How about everytime he's been in a playoff series or anytime we play a big game, like in Boston the other night. When the stakes get high, zach gets real quiet. Im sorry man, i love him to death, but he doesn't rise to the occasion. WOrld competitions mean very little to me, and the shootout is a crappy gimick, so im not impressed. The guy is far from clutch.
