As far as the prime of the core argument Rossi made, there is some good evidence that a hockey players prime is younger than other sports. Still for him to suggest any type of window is closing on this group is assinine and laughable. They might not put up 120 points, but they could be every bit of a better player on and off the ice as they move into their late 20s. - Deadstar

That is good news. I'd like to see him in the 2nd line center role after he gets his legs back to see what he's made of. He shows well he could up his trade value or cement his place in our line up. |

Neal will be out for what coach Dan Bylsma said will be "weeks" with a broken foot
Man, those weeks just flew by. Glad that he is ok, but was hoping he would miss the Caps game tomorrow night, we need points. |

Yeah, thought that Caps were playing better but they crapped the bed on the West Coast swing through LA/San Jose. Pretty clear that this team has zero chance with Backstrom out of the lineup. |

Whats up with Backstrom? Bourque's hit? |

Yep - supposedly precautionary, but you never know if we're getting the real deal from the team/medical staff. For what it's worth, Backstrom said that he was ready to play on Saturday. They ALWAYS lose at San Jose and LA, though, so perhaps they just wrote those games off and figured it was best to let him have a couple of extra days. |

BTW, as I have questioned the Pens staff for the initial handling of Crosby and the re-insertion of Letang into the lineup just minutes after he took a head shot, I also question the Caps sending Backstrom back out for his next shift after the elbow by Bourque. He was then removed from the game and has missed the last two. |

He was in awful shape and since he recovered he has won a Gold Medal and a Cup. He too had a setback after returning the first time. - Gunner Staal
Bergeron has to be the test case which should give the Pens/Crosby hope. It would be interesting to know if Bergeron was experiencing similar symptoms to what Crosby has been going through. |

HCDB should not comment on the expected length of absence of a player. Last year Crosby was going to be out a week. This year Neal was going to be out weeks. One was out long enough to go home for a change of clothes. The other is somewhere in witness protection. |

I think Bergeron was worse off if I remember correctly. |

Anybody else think Neal should chill out and not play tonight if he has to play through pain? They said it was a bone bruise and from an earlier injury. Let him rest for a couple days |

Apparently the injury can't get worse so it is a matter of the player living with whatever pain or not. |

Saw it on the pensblog(cant take credit); but today is the anniversary of the coining of phrases "soff" and "disappoint" by FHCMT.

If this were another sport, this presser would be the stuff of legend and Thierrien would be making Coors Light commercials. |
