Goring is to talk about the actual game. He won the Bill Masterston, Lady Bing, Conn Smyth, and four Stanley cups. Im pretty sure he's qualified to talk hockey on the islander broadcast.

That's the problem. His job is to talk not babble and make no sense. Its just not names, he can't complete a single sentence without stuttering or getting lost mid sentence. I still don't see the connection of being a good player who has won stanley cups and being a good color guy in the booth. Denis Potvin was a winner and he knows the game and when he does the color for games he speaks well he makes sense and adds insight to the game. He basically does the opposite of Butch. You want to take care of your own fine, just facking keep him off camera

tom seaver used to do the color commentating for the mets. he was awful!!!! that doesnt take anything away from his pitching career...he just sucks at calling a game

And if you listened to the game last night you would have heard Jiggs contsantly interjecting tid bits in that Clueless Butch missed by a mile. He must have been shaking his head too b/c at one point Butch said something to him about it... like Am I annoying you?

here are some examples from last night with Jiggs trying to do Color too b/c Butch sux.

Should he be the head coach because in your eyes he knows hockey and has won 4 cups. Who cares if he is qualified is what you're saying

Perhaps.......although i dont know much about Tom Seaver, but the isles situation is different. Butchies spot as the color guy was given to him because of his on ice production. Like him or not.........im pretty sure noone else is beating down the door with his credentials on the isles to do the job.

My point was you keep telling us he was given this position because of what he did on the ice 30 years ago. That's like having a superstar player 30 years ago with a stuttering problem and then having him go around giving motivational speeches Its embarrassing. Yes they did have somebody with much better credentials and that was Jaffe but they got rid of him because he spoke the truth. So instead they bring in this clown who just embarrasses himself night after night.
