you have to admit that was a good season. fun. exciting. shady. chip.

i would have been happy if they won 6 or 7 games but i didn't even think they were going to be able to do that. instead they won the division beating the cowboys in the last game of the season to do it. that's an awesome season.

i bet even 2real isn't too upset. okay, well maybe he is.

pretty sure he held it together through the entire collapse but in those last few minutes, from the customary bad timeout until the end of the game, he looked like he had a big load of poop in his pants every time they showed him.

The team will reimburse the school for any required stadium improvements and all game-day operating expenses. The team and the school would, according to the agreement, also agree to install new turf with an “appropriate heating element” for playing in cold weather.

The negotiations addressed everything from heated benches and portable heaters for kickers — a $62,000-per-season item at one point — to solving the dilemma of the school having a beverage contract with Coca-Cola, while the Vikings use Pepsi. Coke, according to one negotiating memo, was given four regular season tickets “in a prime location” to Vikings games played at the school.

Much of the negotiating dragged on even though the school and the Vikings had reached a preliminary ­agreement the year before.

The Vikings have an exclusive deal with Pepsi. The University of Minnesota has a long-term agreement that gives Coca-Cola the exclusive right to sell soft drinks on campus, dictating even what Gopher football players have available on the sidelines.

In the end, the two sides compromised. Gatorade, a Pepsi product, will be available to the NFL players on the sidelines as well as for the traditional post-game Gatorade shower for the winning coach.

But Coke will be the drink of choice in most of the rest of the stadium.

The alcohol policy is another matter. It took a state law to get beer and wine sales into TCF Bank stadium last year, after several dry years there.

NFL fans will be able to imbibe as soon as the Vikings move in.

A side deal is in the works with the Regents for alcohol sales, said Pam Wheelock, vice president for university services.

"Wine and beer would be available in the entire facility, and then wine and beer and hard spirits would be available in the premium areas," Wheelock said.
