He's a nice D-man, but nothing major. By nice, I mean he's literally a nice guy on and off the ice, which is not really a good quality to have as a stay-at-home D-man. I want a mean guy on the back end, like McQuaid rather than a nice guy.

Two things.

1) Any leverage would mean another D coming in. I don't see how the Kings can have leverage if they sign a F. So, according to what you are saying, it will be Scuderi and unnamed player for _____, which will end up meaning the Kings have leverage. In order to have leverage, it has to be a top defensemen, otherwise there would be none.

But being as how Matt said he'd play along with you, and then mentioned Scuds, I doubt any of this is true.
