I don't know even know what this means.

So, Mark Streit was ready to sign a contract for half the amount he got from the Isles, had Montreal been willing to negotiate with him before free agency. Did you know that? Bet you didn't.

Souray? He scored 19 goals thanks to his shot, but mostly thanks to Markov drawing attention and feeding him with brilliant patience.

Schneider extended his career thanks to a month next to Markov on the pp. He was done, otherwise.

MAB? He's still playing in the league... nough said.

Brisebois? Well, I guess that's a bit of a stretch maybe.

Look at the Montreal's powerplay during the periods all those players were here. The only constant was Markov, and they're in the top 5/ leading the league for 4 of 5 years.

- EricEngels

and by 19 goals for Souray, I meant on the powerplay... he scored 26 that year

That's hilarious. Wiz on his best day, doesn't touch the ability Markov has on the PP. Nice try though. Every Hab fan who knows the team, knows that's the case.

Exactly, I bet stormey doesn't even watch Hab games!

I still don't know which Schneider he's talking about?
- stormey

Mathieu Schneider, who had 17pts in 23 games after being traded to Montreal...for a 2nd and a 3rd

Schneider? Really? Which Schneider are you talking about? Mathieu Schneider?

Streit....ummm....no.

I wonder why Bergeron and Brisebois where pretty much run out of town?

- stormey

Streit wasn't aided by Markov's talents?
Bergeron was ignored because he sucks.
Brisebois....see above, and times it by 1000.

No, he really doesn't. Markov when healthy is Montreal's best player. That includes the revalation Price had last year. That's how good/talented Markov is.

you're completely ridiculous. First you don't know who I'm talking about, as if there was another Schneider on Montreal's powerplay towards the end of his career.

Second, before he came to Montreal and tore his rotator cuff, he was on his way out of the league.

Are you going to make an argument out of this, when I've spoken at length with Mathieu Schneider about it?

Well...No. He only played 17 games with Vancouver the year after before retiring.

I think you give Markov too much credit for a lot of those guys success, especially Streit who proved what he can do without Markov. As for the contract thing, I did hear that, he said it after he signed in NY. I also heard it was BS, but who knows where I heard that.
The fact that PP has been good with Markov says that maybe they were all beneficiaries of the system.
Markov had been Mtls best player for a long time, I just think you’re giving him to much credit for some of the success of the other guys you mention.

he got a contract from the canucks right away after stint with Habs, and then was traded to the Coyotes before having to retire due to nagging injuries.

5) David Desharnais will beat out Lars Eller for ice-time.

Not only in ice-time, but in production as well.

I think that after 2 years without Markov, the fans tend to forget what he brings to the team.

I wouldn't state it as a fact if it were bs.

as for credit to markov, the numbers only support the argument. watch him run the powerplay, all the evidence is there from throughout his career.

Eventually, yes. But his time with Markov helped him tremendously.

Yes I am going to argue about this. You make it out that Markov was some big part in Schneider's career. I knew who you were talking about...I just couldn't believe that you would actually bring up the whole 20 some odd games they played together.
