There is hope, becuase we have a couple forwards that might be able to play in the corners this year.

But if after a awhile Pax and Cole are not winning those battles JMs focus will go back to the tried and true counterattack and wait for a PP.

ummm, hey Drex.

Ummmm....are you waiting to see which team has the most points after the pre-season to choose your new team?
The ummmm, the Thrashers move, FYI.

Best case scenario, maybe not... optimistic projection, yes

Winning 55% of the games played is all that matters in Montreal.

You know this.

It's JM's own fault. His system never let Pyatt flaunt his full flowering of creativity and artistry with the puck.

I think actual chemistry trumps talent.
- trash

Oh that is a huge factor as well i think.
But when you add a big money guy to your line-up as a upgrade you expect the line-mates to improve.
It does not always happen but most GM's and coaches do.
But in most cases if one linemate is good enough he can cover for the other players shortcomings, it has happened a lot.
To say Souray had success in Edmonton is not realistic.(They could not even give him away)
And to suggest that it was all Lucic for Komi's lack of success is also not realistic.
I mean in Komi's case he can not even do the little things right in a game and he seems pretty healthy to me.

Maybe he could do a 10 things that could go wrong with Habs season, to show a little reality.

Or even just tempering expectations on Subban a little. EE seems to think he's going to explode next year

No I know why you think offensive players need to float at the other teams blueline to be productive.

You love L'Artiste more then howard.

What do you expect Kessel to score playing with Tim?
- Guimania

His production stayed pretty consistent between playing with Savard, and the junk he's been paired with in his time in Toronto. Granted, to be fair, it's pretty hard to say that's all related to his pairings, when you're looking at a 20 year old kid. Maybe he would have scored 40 or 45 if he'd continued to play with Savard (healthy Savard). It's all speculation.

But Souray has had success in his time in Edmonton. Just not enough. His issues have been more related to his injuries, not his production and play when he is healthy.

As far as blaming Lucic.... I have no idea. I was just commenting that it seems most Habs fans have commented that he's been ineffective since he had his shoulder separated by Lucic. Not since he was separated from Markov.

Well his production might be close or better(should be)
But his defensive game should improve dramatically.
But hey everything is points in the NHL right?

the thing is, we all know more than 10 things that could go wrong next season

Subban doesn't need to "explode" to get an invite for the ASG IMO, just do what he did at the end of last season with consistency

Look Souray was healthy and still in the AHL taking up cap space if that to you is success then i not sure how to respond.

Defensive is a team stat. He could be playing with Cariboneau but if the rest of the 4 guys on the ice don't want to commit to the defense, his defensive stats won't improve.

7th place or better? I would be very happy if we finished 8th but I have my doubts.
