That's how good Markov is.

Anyone who's saying Amrkov isn't good is crazy, but that doesn't mean he's the main reason a PP, that's been succesful without him, or players, who've been succesful without him, owe it all to him.

- trash

Well to say they owe their success to Markov is a bit of a stretch, but i do not think EE was suggesting that.
Would Souray have signed such a lucrative deal if he had not broke the habs record for PP goals in a season by a hab.
Was it all Markov? i do not think so but to pretend it was not a factor is not really fare.
I mean of his last two partners who earned big money one is out of the league and the other is treading water.

Don't forget you can't compare numbers under Jacques Martin to numbers in LA or Calgary since JM demands a much higher two-way responsibility from all his players.
- chpucapabb

So Cammy Scored alot of break away goals with Calgary and LA becuase he was sitting at the other teams blue line all game?

I thought it was the habs lack the size and strength to keep the play in the other teams end for extended periods of time.

go to ice house on Roy near St. Laurent (where Zazium used to be) fried chicken and ribs , the best in the city. they put a sheet of paper over the table and dump the food right on it , no plates. i have friends from Texas that swear it's the best they've had since being away from home.

Souray had one of his best years ever in Edmonton (second best). He's battled injuries, which has played a big part in holding him back. He had a few years in Montreal, beside Markov, that didn't come close to that season in Edmonton. I'd hardly call him a shining example of anything.

Streit didn't seem to really miss a beat moving on.

Komisarek would be really the only one that could possibly help your point. And interestingly, most Habs fans seem to point to Lucic being the difference.... Not Markov.

- prock

Yes Souray had a great time with Edmonton.
So good they do not even want to take the chance to play him anymore for fear of injury.
How does Komi getting the poop beat out of him earn him big money with Burkie and the leafs?

I had no idea.

It's been a crazy couple of weeks for that stuff. There were 2 severe storms in Toronto, combined with that earthquake, in one week.

There were entire trees down in my neighbourhood after one of the storms. I was sitting on the porch watching it, and without exaggeration, the sky looked like a flickering light there was so much lightning. The thunder just seemed to growl constantly, with the occasional boom here and there, amidst the constant growl.

Maybe it's the apocalypse.

If so, does this mean the Leafs might win the cup?

- prock

if the leafs win the cup right after the bruins then yes. the world is coming to an end. for the record the cubs are never winning a world series.

get in line behind the Sabres:

Iginla may be interested in waiving his NTC for another kick at Lord Stanley's Cup in Buffalo. Doesn't hurt the Sabres that Robyn Regehr is now a Buffalo Sabre. The arrivals of Regehr, Ehrhoff, and Leino into Hockey Heaven surely has sent a message to the NHL that Mr. Pegula is serious about winning multiple Cups in Buffalo in the near future.

The Oilers poster Zombie has tried to do some analysis on it, and insists that, for the most part, who someone plays with plays a much smaller factor in their production than most think. There are some exceptions, in terms of chemistry, and in terms of players, but for the most part, it holds true.

You're right. JM's system in no way impacts an offensive player's numbers. Carry on

Just look at Crosby. No matter who his linemates are, they basically post the same number of points with, or without Crosby.
